NUMB

Today has been hard. Very emotional.

As we were getting dressed for church this morning we received the phone call we have been dreading. Our good friend Carl is at the end of his fight against cancer. His wife has been told 24-48 hours.

Our minister and good friend announced this morning that he and his family will be movings in June.

Dear Lord, surround us with your comfort.

Hugs from the beach,
Kat

Dearest Sweet Kat,

I can only say this has been my life story for the last five months. I know how it feels to be numb, but thankful, while scared and sad. My heart goes out to you and I will surely be praying for you. As you have certainly been a blessing to me.

Kat, numb is the best word to describe these moments in life, though we all wish that is would take our pain away, it doesn't. Just knowing he is in the Lord's loving arms, is the only thuoght that can help one through this. My prayers go out to you, and your dear friend, and his family. When it's time, he will be in paradise with God and looking down upon everyone with much love and gratitude knowing he had such wonderful people, like you, in his life.

God Bless and smile of those happy memories.

Dear Kat,

I am so sorry about your friend.

I lift up my eyes to the hills-from where will my help come? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.
Psalm 121:1-2

I pray in this time that your friend and his wife and all of you who love him will be able to draw strength and comfort from the Lord.

Blessings,
Sue

Kat, so sorry about your friend. I pray his homegoing will be peaceful and easy. For he and his family and friends. God bless them all.

We get so involved in our churches, don't we? Then when something happens, it's like family leaving. Sometimes I think I would like to go to a huge church where I do not know anyone and just come and worship and leave. But, I wouldn't like that, either. Our church is still dealing with the hurts from the split last year. Just know that if God is moving your pastor away...He is preparing someone to come and take his place.
I undederstand.

Oh, Kat! So sorry. I lost a dear friend to cancer 12 years ago and it feels like yesterday. Even when you know where they are going, it is still hard on those left behind!

It is always hard to lose a beloved pastor. I do pray you get a wonderful one to follow!

Again, I really hate to read that about Carl. I'm even more thankful for Dick's good PET scan results last week. I just hate cancer so bad. Oh, for a cure!

And about your minister, I'm really sorry for you and your church, because I know how loved he was. It's not easy to be the one leaving either, so I'll lift you all to the Lord.

Oh Kat, I am so sorry for all your sad news. I have had a lot on my plate too, recently. We must trust in the Lord and believe that His plan is best, although we don't always understand why! I am praying for Carl and his family at this time. I know how hard it is to lose a wonderful minister. I pray that you all get another new minister that you love just as much or even better. Hang in there. I hope you feel God's love for you at this time, despite these loses. Love & blessings from NC!

Hi Kat,
I found your blog through Cindy's blog. She and I recently met online. Her husband, Mark, died the day before Christmas, and my husband, James, died the day after Christmas.

It's so great to meet another woman of faith who loves her husband and is praying for others. I will be back to visit you. If you're interested in reading about James, you might want to read my blog "The Death of My Precious James" and "May I Tell You About James?"

Wishing you all God's blessings,
