I NOW HAVE MORE GRAY HAIR :-)

This is how I spent my time in isolation...draped in a gown with my iPad watching over my girl

I've been home almost a week now and it's still hard to write about the three weeks of HE double L that I lived through recently.

George and I had plans to go spend a long weekend to keep our youngest grandson so our daughter and her husband could make a long weekend trip to New Orleans to celebrate her birthday.  She called 4 days before we were supposed to come to let me know that our grandson had a "bug" and she was staying home from work.  As usual, I offered to come early.  She said she thought it would be okay.  The next day our son-in-love stayed home with him.  On the third day, she texted me to ask if I could come early.  I literally threw some things in a suitcase and left right away.  George couldn't leave on short notice, but said he would join me in a day or so.  By the day they were supposed to leave for their trip, our daughter was sick.  We thought she had a touch of what the baby had.  Wrong.  She ended up in the emergency room and she was quickly admitted to the hospital.  To make a VERY long story short, they could not figure out what was wrong.  They knew immediately she had "impressively serious" colitis, but didn't know the cause.  She was loosing lots of blood and tissue....for days.  They took so many cultures and we had to wait for results.  They put her on antibiotics, pain meds and nausea IVs.  At first they were worried about C-Dif or E-Coli.  Later they thought it might be either Crohn's disease or a chronic types of colitis.  She could not eat...at all.  By the end of the week, they did a colonoscopy and a esophagogastroduodenoscopy and took biopsies.  All tests came back negative.  Thank you Lord!  She eventually improved and was dismissed from the hospital.  We are still not sure what caused it.  They explained that they can not test for every nasty bacteria and virus and sometimes test come back negative, but could be a "false negative".  She is doing well and has now returned to work and I have returned home.  A true mystery.  So scary.

Lots of family and friends were praying and our prayers were answered.

Thank you God!
