The party for Bree and Jay on Saturday night was wonderful!
Gorgeous night. Gorgeous Home.
Bree and Jay greeting guests at the front door.
Ashley, Gabe, Jay, Bree, Ron, Sandra, Sherrye, Alice Chaney, Wanda and DickThe party was given by Jay's family (aunts, uncles, sister, cousin) and was held at the gorgeous home of Jay's cousin, Gabe and his wife Ashley. Everything was beautiful and delicious.
Thanks everyone for the prayers after MTee's accident. As you can see, I was right... nothing would keep her from attending. She didn't stay long, but she came and she looked absolutely beautiful.
So happy for our sweet girl!
Teresa aka MTee or T (for Mom Teresa) Bree and Me aka Goose (Jay started calling me this, MTee calls me MaGoose)
I think it's pretty funny that the two of us are Mother Teresa and Mother Goose. LOL!
Jay with his Mom and sister
Bree and Jay with his Nanny
Alice Chaney (Jay's sister) and Annie (MTee's best friend)

George and I couldn't be any happier for Bree and Jay.
Thank you Lord for blending these two families together. It really was a night to remember!

This morning I began to tackle that list I mentioned in my last post. Yesterday I was overwhelmed, but for some reason today I felt empowered. Thank you Lord!

I've starting cleaning out my closet. Long over due! I found when we were in California that it was so much less stressful getting dressed every day. I took only things I liked so there wasn't soooo much "stuff" in my closet. I could make a quicker decision when I could see things quickly and not get sidelined thumbing through stuff I don't like/can't fit into anymore/haven't wore in awhile/out of season, etc, etc, etc. I decided to put out of season things in another closet and then separated some things to take to charity and some that I will try in a consignment shop. My closet is looking better already!
I had to chuckle when I started because I remembered a joke I got via email recently:"I just had a call from a Charity asking me to donate some of my clothes to the starving people throughout the world. I told them to kiss off!! Anybody who fits into my clothes isn't starving!!"
Too funny!
I also did all the laundry (yeah me!), cleaned the fish bowl (poor fish couldn't see a darn thing), caught up on some phone calls, cleaned my desk, got my hair cut and highlighted, starting packing for our trip this weekend AND even did a little shopping and found something for the party this weekend (BIG relief).
I didn't take care of everything on my list (I've actually added to it), but I'm feeling good about what I've accomplished and hoping to tackle even more tomorrow after bible study.

Oh.my.word!
I bet everyone of you understands this. There are just times when everything in my life needs attention. At the same time. Like now.
My house is a mess.
I have laundry up to the "yin yang".
And ironing.
My closet is a chaotic mess.
My plants need watering.
My nails need a manicure.
I need a haircut.
I need to lose 10 pounds (over night pretty please!).
My desk is covered with "stuff" that I need to do.
The fish bowl needs cleaning.
I've got lots to do to catch up with my bible study before Thursday.
I have phone calls to make.
AND....
We're leaving to go out of town again this weekend for another wedding party...and I have nothing to wear. Yet. wink winkI've got to pack...again.
In other words...this week is NOTHING like my last two weeks. Wish I could twitch my nose or hit the rewind button and start my vacation over.

From my blog post last year after we got home from California:
March 25, 2009
Dear Body,
I apologize for the abuse I have put you through these last two weeks. I have subjected you to a much dryer climate. I didn't drink enough water or use moisturizer enough the first few days. I have not given you enough sleep....up too early and to bed too late. I've pushed you to your limit with long hard hikes in lots of dry heat. I know you function best when I stay away from carbs, yet I have over indulged in them....french fries, donuts, bagels, pastas, candy, pretzels, ice cream, bread, etc. And to top it off, I have not been to the gym even once. No bike riding or tennis either. Sigh....
Thank you for hanging in there with me. Starting tomorrow things will be back to normal. It's a promise!Today, March 22, 2010
Dear Body:
Ditto.
So sorry.
I hate I didn't learn my lesson from last year.
Sheepishly hanging my head....
Note to self:
Read my Dear Body post, BEFORE I go to California. Not after!

We loved every single moment of our trip to California. Every.single.moment! We have been going to Palm Desert every year for the last 6 years and this is the first year that I didn't want to come home at the end of the two weeks. I really would have liked to stay another two weeks...at least.
But, now that we're home, it sure is nice to be back with Miss Daisy and I'm looking forward to climbing in our own bed in just a bit.
We are so lucky that my Mom and my Aunt Sherry are willing to come and stay with Miss Daisy while we are away. How wonderful it is to know that she is happy and that everything is being taken care of at home. It's been fun tonight to just sit around with a glass (or two) of good wine and re-live our trip and to hear what they have been up to. I hate that they have to leave in the morning though.
Awwwww....home sweet home.
Dorothy is right....there really is "no place like home"!
