AND NOW IT'S HER TURN

Bree has been in quite a few weddings. Maybe not 27...like the movie 27 Dresses...but quite a few.

She was the flower girl in a large bridal show to benefit The American Cancer Society when she was just a little bitty girl.

This photo made me smile. I remember how she used to stick out her tongue in a cute way any time she was embarrassed.

She was the flower girl for the daughter of George's secretary.

She was the flower girl (and Eric was the ring bearer) in the wedding of George's oldest daughter Kim.

She was also the flower girl in George and Jan's wedding, but I've looked everywhere tonight and can't find the photo. Pooh!

AND...Bree has been a bridesmaid or maid of honor in a lot of her friends weddings. I'll try to post some of those photos in another post.

And now in just two weeks Bree will be the BRIDE and her three flower girls will be her nieces and Jay's nephew will be the ring bearer.

I'M GETTING SOOOOOOO EXCITED!

WHAT I DID TODAY

My dining room now is officially "wedding central".  I've pulled back all the chairs and practically every surface is covered with something.

This afternoon I brought in all the supplies for the hospitality boxes that have been tucked away (here, there and everywhere) and my friend Beth came over and helped me put them together. We finished about half of them.  I'm hoping to finish the rest tomorrow.

Tonight my dining table is covered!

It's so hard to believe...two weeks from today most of the guests will begin arriving.

Gulp!

IT'S GONNA BE HARD FOR GEORGE

20 days until our baby girl gets married.  Lots of thought and memories are running through my mind.

Love this song!  George really did love her first.  He was in the delivery room with me the whole time.  He helped clean her up.  He held her first. She stole his heart right from the start.

I've been thinking about the father/daughter dance at the wedding and it gives me sweet chills.  I remember when she was just a tiny thing and she would stand on George's shoes and they would dance for awhile and then he would pick her up and swirl her around.  Sweet memories.

It's gonna be hard for George, but he and I both are so happy for Bree.  She waited a long time to find "the one"....

and she did!

We love you Jay!

Hugs!

WHAT'S UP?

Hi there!

How was your Saturday?

Mine has been a bit rainy, but it didn't stop me from having a good time.  We got in a good bike ride between the rains, had breakfast with 4 of our friends, George and I shared a pizza for lunch, I planted a few new flowers and I've been playing on my computer all afternoon.  Nice!

TGIF

Thanks for all the sweet comments on my last post and photos from the shower.

I think we're going to the movies and dinner tonight. I can't wait to see Date Night with Steve Carell and Tina Fey. It should be a good one.

Tomorrow we're planning a long bike ride and maybe some time on the beach or by our pool if the rain that is predicted doesn't stop us. But...believe it or not, the weather here along the coast doesn't always do what "they" say it will. LOL (edited to add: Me and my big mouth! "They" were right. The rain actually started tonight. We're hoping since it came earlier than expected that it will leave earlier too so that we can keep our plans. I'm sure my flowers are happy though. Plus I love the sound of the rain at bedtime.)

On Sunday, we'll do our normal - stop by $tarbuck$ for coffee on the way to church and then have lunch with friends after church.

A nice relaxing weekend...I hope. Of course, I'll also be doing a few more things on my never-ending "to do" list for the wedding, but things are pretty well under control. Smile!

What's your plans?

MORE SWEET MEMORIES FROM SATURDAY

The cake was not only gorgeous, but absolutely d-i-v-i-n-e! "Knock your socks off" delish!
Memo, the chef and one of the owners, is the one who made the cake and all the delicious dishes. He's VERY easy on the eyes too...in case you didn't notice. wink wink
Our friends decided to do something different...times have changed...and rather than have the shower in a home, they decided to give it at one of our favorite places, Fat Clemenza's. They aren't open for lunch on Saturdays usually, but when they knew it was for us, they pulled out all the stops to make it a wonderful event.
Bree with Linda, the manager, who made it absolutely perfect! She's as sweet as she is beautiful!
Memo created all of our family favorites - house salads, "Memo's rolls" (these are to die for!), pizzas, chicken parmigiano and my all time favorite pasta. It's not on the menu but they make it for me...a Caprese salad served over pasta in a light butter wine sauce. The food was all incredible. Thank you Memo!
Vickie, Jo, Bree and Linda K
Bree with three of the hostesses (the fourth was out of town...we missed you Linda M).

Our friend Carol had fun putting together a ribbon/bow bouquet for Bree.

Bree with Cindy (our minister's wife)
Ooooh-la-la!
Our sweet and talented daughter-in-love, Jan, surprised Bree with a unique "floating" type photo (it doesn't lay flat on the wall) that she took last year when she was shooting their engagement photos. Gorgeous! It's hard to see just how gorgeous in this photo because of the plastic wrap.

And how cool is this!! Jan took a photo of the menu board and when she got home she worked her magic by adding the photo and their names in chalk!

Sorry I have been missing in action. Not to worry....I'm actually doing just fine. This is the fun part! I'm busy, but not too stressed.

For now.....

LOTS OF CELEBRATING

Overwhelmed with feelings of love and excitement for the absolutely beautiful shower that was given to Bree this weekend by my sweet girlfriends. The food was incredible and the flowers were breathtaking. Everyone had a wonderful time. Lot of family members came and we had a great time together with another little party that night. Saturday was a FULL day of partying for sure. It was actually an action packed, crazy, busy, exciting weekend! I'm still waiting to get more photos from my two daughter-in-laws, but here's a photo from my camera taken at the shower on Saturday. More photos soon....I hope.

4 WEEKS

I'm a worrier. There I said it.

I get it naturally...my Mom is a worrier too. It's something I struggle with. Something I would really like to change about myself. George teases me sometimes and says if I can't think of something to worry about then I worry that I have forgotten something. LOL

And I'm a perfectionist too.

Our daughter's wedding is just a little over 4 weeks away, so I must admit I'm struggling with anxiety at times. It's a happy exciting time, but even happy times can be stressful. But you know what...when I begin to feel anxious, I remind myself
that God is with me each step of the way. And deep down, I know all will be okay.

So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own. Today's trouble is enough for today.

-Matthew 6:34

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
-Philippians 4:6

How about you?

THE BEST PRESENT TO MYSELF

Bree and I have planned her wedding pretty much down to every detail and decided on all of our vendors. All by ourselves. Thank you very much! I really didn't think we needed a wedding coordinator. But the more I thought about it, the more I knew I wanted help here at the end, especially for the actual day of the wedding. I want to enjoy myself and our guests. So.... I hired a wedding planner about two months ago.

Let me tell you, it's the BEST present I could ever give myself. She has been amazing!

Things are coming along nicely. It's so much fun each day to check the mail and receive the invitation response cards. Very few declines.

The excitement is building!

EXTRA BROWNIE POINTS FOR SURE!

George asks me periodically to burn a CD for him. He makes a list of songs and voila! a CD is born!

A few days ago he gave me his new list and I looked it over and saw Annie's Song. I said "really...you want Annie's Song?". He said "Why not? I love that song. It's beautiful and it always makes me think of you. To me, it's Kathy's Song."

How sweet is that?!!!!!!!!!

After 32 years of marriage, he can still surprise and thrill me.

It's an old one, but the words really are sweet!

WEDDING CENTRAL

35 days until the wedding! My stomach quivers just thinking about it!

I haven't had much time to blog, blog visit, facebook, play tennis, ride my bike, exercise, etc., I'm not complaining though. "Just stating the facts ma'am!" It's actually a very happy exciting time.

Lots going on around my house. Including this...I've been busy decorating 100 hospitality boxes to take to the hotels for the out of town wedding guests.

As you can see, some chocolate and a Dr. Pepper helped as I worked! LOL I actually took all of my supplies over to one of our condos and put them together there.

I have plastic containers e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e holding items for the wedding. It's definitely "wedding central" around here. Fun, fun, fun!

I'm keeping the hospitality boxes flat until I'm ready to fill them with the "goodies".

Bree has another wedding shower this Saturday given by four of my friends (here in town, yeah!) and lots of family will be arriving beginning on Wednesday so this week will be a busy one too.

(I used the self timer on my camera and had to dash into the photo...hence I'm not in the whole frame)

On Friday a group of my friends got together for a luncheon to say goodbye to our Canadian friend who will be going home until next January. Everyone brought something and we had a "build your own taco salad" bar and frozen margaritas and wine.
It was a fun time! A nice reprieve.

We will miss you Lynda!
