SLAP YO MAMMA GOOD

I had a great time in Jackson with Bree and Jay. I'm missing them already and I just got home this afternoon.

BAM!
Jay made Chicken Etouffee last night that was "Slap Yo Mama" good! Oh.My.Word! I didn't take the time to take a photo of the finished dish because by the time it was ready, we were all dying to dig in, but I did sneak a quick shot of him as he was making the roux. Dinner was wonderful big bowls of rice covered in serious deliciousness (is that a word?) and hot crusty garlic bread.

Watch out Emeril 'cause our boy can cook!

Speaking of Emeril...he recently bought a house in our neighborhood. I haven't seen him yet, but George saw him last night at Publix. Several people stopped him to get photos with him before he hopped on his golf cart and escaped. LOL George said he was very nice to them though. Hmmmm...wonder if he'd like to come over and give me some cooking lessons.

Speaking of Jay...tomorrow is his birthday.

Happy Birthday Jay!

Jay is quite the chef. Bree is so lucky!!! Happy Birthday Jay!! Hope you have a wonderful day. I'm glad you had a great visit. Isn't that exciting about Emeril. He has the cutest children. They have been on Martha's show several times when I have seen them. Maybe he will invite you and George to a dinner party. Wouldn't that be fun? Love & blessings from NC!

I have a son-in-law who is a grill master. It is nice for my daughter who sometimes has to work till 6:30. Our girls are lucky to have talented husbands. I'm glad you had fun and were fed well. If you get that recipe, please pass it along. It sounds wonderful. Have a great weekend.

Sounds like you had a great time! Hard to leave, I'm sure. But at least it was with some great memories tucked away in your heart. I hope Bree realizes what a gem she has, in a cooking hubby! I'm sure he's great for more reasons than that, but cooking is just icing on the cake. OK - does he bake, too? Ha!
