IT'S STILL PARADISE

It's been so hot that I haven't even wanted to go over to the beach, especially after spending two hours on the tennis court. All I want is a cool shower and to be inside my air conditioned house. But I've sure missed the beach.

I haven't officially started cleaning/de-cluttering/organizing my garage yet, but I have been eying some things that I knew needed to go including two big buckets of sand that I brought home from the beach before the wedding when I was working on some projects. I ended up with extra and the buckets have just been sitting in the garage.

As I drove to the beach this afternoon to return the sand, I couldn't help but admire...for the gazillionth (is that a word?) time... how gorgeous our sugar white sand is. Seriously gorgeous. Seriously white.
And you can see why we're known as The Emerald Coast. Just look at that color.

Actually, although the water color was pretty today, we do have more seaweed than normal this time of year. It has to be the incredible heat we are having.

I sure do love living here.

Thank you God for sparing us from the oil spill.

Sweet friend!
I feel your joy !
It hits me smack in the middle of my gut each and every time I return to my native soil, and stand, feet buried into that sugary white sand, eyes and heart..gazing at the endless beautiful horizon..
be thankful ..
you are so truly blessed!
warm sandy hugs..

I too, have sand from our beloved Ocean City. It's in a gallon baggy. Some days I just spread it in a box and wiggle my toes in it. I also play the Ocean part of the sleep machine I have. Was that a seagull I just heard go by? *Smile* It's so nice just to daydream even if I can't actually be there. You are blessed. xxoo

Hey Kat....thanks for sharing your paradise pictures with us out here in blogland. Alvin and I were in Gulf Shores last week and drove over to your Emerald Coast last Wednesday and ate at the Back Porch. The view was incredible. We had not been to Destin in over 30 years.....geez, it is as beautiful or maybe even more beautiful than I remember. I do have a question for you. When you enter Destin from the west side traveling east, I noticed the water was extrememly blue as we drove over the bridge. There were literally hundreds of boats off to the left side of the bridge. My question.....why is that water such a beautiful color of blue? And dang, where did all those boats come from? Are they residents? The water looked to be only water deep for ever. Anywho, just wonderfing.

Have a GREAT day! I've been cleaning closets all week and today is clean blinds, window sills and baseboards....YUCK! Better run and get busy.

How I share you joy at the sparing of such a glorious thing as those beaches and that water!

Our Girls and Grands are probably out in the sand and water right now, enjoying every minute of their stay, and I'm so glad for them, as well.

Just beautiful. We just have to be able to count on some things to be eternal.

Glad to get a good report from the beach! I am headed back down to 30A to "close up" our condo for football season...I am bringing a group of 12 year olds for one last girls weekend...(I need one more trip to George's at Alys Beach, but we'll see how that goes)...

We usually come back the day after Thanksgiving, the kids love the Arts and Crafts Festival at Rosemary...gosh that seems like a long way off...the beach is so gorgeous then, sugar white and just a little chill, perfect walk!!

Oh what gorgeous sand. Wish I had 15-20 gallons to fill my sandbox for the *littles.* I can't find any quite that white here in NC!!!

Destin does have beautiful beaches! My cousin got married on the beach there in June, and we enjoyed our stay...looked like alot of people had cancelled reservations though...not crowded at any of the attractions or resturants!
