CLEANSING

Whispering this 'cause I don't want to jinx myself...but I THINK the hives are gone. Maybe, just maybe. I had just a few yesterday and none so far today. Praise God! My doctor told me to continue taking the meds for two weeks AFTER they stopped, so I will, even though I hate doing so.

Anyway, enough talk about hives!

Oh, how I wish I had one of these!

Okay, you all know I've been talking about feeling the urge/need to clean everything in sight. Well, I've done a bit and the feeling is sticking around so I'll be working on more closets and drawers this afternoon and for days to come. It's even extended to my car. I've cleaned out my glove compartment and my trunk!

And I'm not just taking things out and organizing them. I'm clearing things out, giving stuff away, throwing stuff away and then giving the drawers and shelves a good cleaning.

Each time I clean something out I feel "lighter" somehow.
It takes time, but it sure feels good. It's deeply therapeutic and fulfilling.

Don't get me wrong...it's definitely NOT fun, but it's oh so nice when I stand back and see the difference.

How about you? What are you up to?

Just a thought ... be careful with the cleaning products. They could be the cause of your hives.

I am doing laundry, cleaning house and straightening up. I have set up a huge table in the basement and have placed my yard sale finds, etc. down there that I want to work with. Now it keeps it all out of my dining room. Trying to organize things in the house too and get rid of some things I don't need. It is a cool day here. Feels like fall. I am going to make some cookies later today. Enjoy your Sunday. Love & blessings from NC!

I'm up to printing this out in really BIG type and putting it on the fridge (just did).

I NEED the impetus to get things arranged and changed and rightened and cleared OUT and cleaned this week. All the chillun are at the beach house, I have no little one underfoot to look after, Chris is spraying PineSol Mold Lifter into the denuded bathroom floor upstairs, preparatory to laying the new flooring, there are two days' worth of dishes in the sink from last week when I was madly helping cook and pack for the trip, I collapsed and slept from noon til five yesterday after everyone left, we slept in until eleven today, and a man DIED in Cracker Barrel just as we arrived for lunch.

How's that to put a perspective on our plans?

Right now, I'm meditative and stepping AWAY from the usual, as I wash dishes and think of that family. I wish their day could have been ordinary.

dear sweet fried..
First..be very careful using any cleaning products in your air conditioned hose. the slightest thing could trigger a recurrence of those dreaded hives..am glad you are feeling better..but, really do take it easy on the products..especially until it is determined what set them off in the first place..
OKAY?
warm sandy hugs,,'

ps.. just chillin'..drinking ice tea and catching up in blogland..

I agree that I love the "after feeling" but I also get in the middle of it too often and wonder WHY I even started! It's important to look at the light at the end of the tunnel.

Oh my gosh! I had to laugh out loud at that photo... I could just imagine you pushing that from room to room! :)
I have spent all weekend painting my bedroom... getting a few new pieces of furniture delivered tomorrow and they will be too heavy to move once they get set up, so as much as I dislike painting, I had to get it done! UGH! But, yay for the new furniture!

It's something in the air! I just hope it sticks around long enough to finish all that I've started. Good for you!

Okay, I promised myself that when you began cleaning, so would I because, I hate cleaning all by myself! Today, Alan is going to work full time,so I can get my mind off him and into cleaning. Now, where do I begin?

Jean is a step ahead of all of us, but I don't think I will move in order to clean, but it is a good idea!

The first thing that popped into my head when looking at that "rolling cleaning center" was HOW COOL IS THAT??? Then it was where on earth would you store something like that??? LOL!! Happy clean-up Monday!

I have been cleaning out closets, drawers, rooms ever since May when I quit my job.....and I'm not finished!(sigh)

I do.not.like.to.clean. No I don't....but I love the feeling of order.

This week I prepare for a week at the beach. Not much cleaning happening.....yeah!

I'm going through the same thing! I'm just so tired of so much STUFF and really it's a little embarrassing. I'm donating, throwing away, whatever it takes.

Wow, Kat. Wish I would get that urge. So far it's not happening. LOL

Glad your hives are better! Any idea what caused them??

Come and help me clean my car... I had some magazines in the passenger seat and just realized that a cough drop actually melted on the leather seat...ugggghhh.

Have a wonderful day Kat!

Hmmmm, can't say I've ever had such an intense urge to clean. Sorry, Kat, can't relate!

I'm doing the same thing as you and loving the feeling. It's very freeing to let things go.

Chiming back in to report, Ma'am!!

The DAV truck just picked up six bags of clothes and linens, several paintings, a box of paperbacks, two boxes of glassware, two nightstands, a set of aluminum pots, a toaster and a BIG coat-rack.

Cleansed, I feel.

Thanks for the pep-talk,

rachel
