DRENCHED...WITH RAIN AND MEMORIES

Today I got caught by a heavy quick rain when I was out riding my bike. I was too far away to make it back home, so I ended up finding shelter under a big beautiful magnolia. Thank you Lord for no lightning and thunder. Just big fat drenching rain drops. I was soaked by the time I found refuge under the tree, but it was nice to watch the rain for awhile and keep my iPhone dry. It was zippered in my bike caddy, but even that was getting soaked.

As I stood there and watched the hard rain, I remembered how my sisters and I loved to play in the rain when Mom would let us. We would lift our faces to the sky and open our mouths to catch the rain. We'd dance around and stomp in puddles and laugh at all the mud that splattered on us. When we had enough, we would undress right by the door and Mom would bring us towels to wrap up in and we would head straight to the tub for a warm bath.

A nice memory.

What a wonderful memory!! We should all be more adventerous and carefree and play like children in the rain ... ok minus the stripping down where neighbours may be... lol... the next time it rains here - I hope I will venture outside and just let the rin wash over me... Happy Monday my friend..HHL

Such a sweet memory, Kat. I guess we all did that when we were kids; it was the simple things that made us happy. (((hugs)))

I can remember doing that, also, with my older brother. We would race off the front porch, around the house and back to the porch. We would see how WET we got - a contest. Fun, simple fun. A great memory for sure. Thanks for reminding me!

It was worth getting wet to remember the fun times with your sisters.

Kat, Thanks for sharing your wonderful memories. That sounds like what my children do now:) They love the rain. You may have to start carrying a ziplock bag. Have a great week.

I Kat! We haven't visited in awhile and found you on another blog. What a perfect post for me to find as it is raining at my house today. Oh yes, I remember those days of loving to play in the rain...especially with an umbrella! Memories...
Come see me sometime! Donna

Living in the City we played in the gutters as children; kicking water at each other was loads of fun. This post brings back lots of memories for me and the Sisters. Thanks for the smiles. xxoo
