GOT TUMS?

We went to Cantina Laredo tonight with our friends Rudy and Sharon who are in town for a long weekend. It's always so nice to get to spend time with them.

The table side prepared guacamole, chips and salsa, chicken fajitas and my frozen pomegranate margarita was all delicious a few hours ago, but my tummy is aching now. It could have been the Mexican brownie dessert we all shared at the end. Or all of the above. Ugh!

BTW...Have you ever had the Mexican brownie? Its a HUGE brownie with pecans on a sizzling skillet with Mexican brandy butter and cinnamon ice cream. We don't normally order dessert, but I was emailed a certificate for a free dessert for my birthday. That's my excuse and I'm sticking with it!

What is it about Mexican food that makes you (me anyway) think you can just keep eating and eating?!

Right now, nothing sounds good, except maybe some Tums. Ugh!

Update Friday morning - much better this morning!

My bible study class started a new session this morning. It's Beth Moore's lecture series on Revelation - Here and Now...There and Then.

I think it's going to be a good one.

Looking forward to the weekend, especially with our cooler weather.
What's your plans?

Ms.Kat,

Mexican food doesn't always set well with me either. It is something they use to prepare it maybe MSG or something. I hope you feel better soon.

I have a prayer request. I wanted to ask you if you and perhaps your prayer group would pray for my Aunt. She is 80 and she is having open heart surgery on Monday morning in Mobile. I will be making a post but I wanted to ask you and (weezer, but i guess she isn't feeling well still) privately. She has two leaking valves but is weak from the heart attack and I am very concerned. I just feel we need all the prayer warriors we can get. If you could I would thank you so much. She means the world to me. thank you and I hope you are back to your perky self in the am.

Hope your tummy is treating you much better. Oh my word! Mexican food is my Mt. Everest as I can't stay away from the Chimichongas. Just the smell makes me want to eat and eat until I burst. I felt the same way when in my teens and my friend and I would go to the Mexican place in her neighborhood. Back then we had french fries with chili powder on them. I still like them that way. Talk about bursting! :) xxoo
