Did you know September is National Menopause Awareness Month? Well, it is. I can't believe there's any woman out there who is not aware of her menopause or that it's coming if she hasn't been "blessed" yet. Believe me, I'm aware. Very very aware.
How 'bout you?
I've felt all of these!

The worst part for me is the hot flashes. They seem to come and go. Mine have started again...with a vengence.
Symptoms of Hot Flashes
-
A feeling of pressure in your head when the hot flash begins
-
A feeling of mild warmth to intense heat that spreads through your upper body and face
-
A flushed appearance with red and blotchy skin on your face, neck, and upper chest
-
A rapid heartbeat
-
Sweating, particularly on your upper body
-
A chilled feeling when the hot flash ends
"Father, help me to be a blessing to someone today."

I've not met these 7 dwarves - nope. Not yet anyway. But thanks for the warning!
Been there ... done that ... surgically. I am on compounded hormone Tri-Est and have NO symptoms and NO HOT FLASHES ever.
See your doctor and get some help.
I did have a few hot flashes before my surgery, so I feel for you. Mine only hit my chest and upper arms. How strange is that?!!

Thank Heaven for Fans!!!!!
I'm not sure but think that is what is wrong with me.
I hate it! Have problems sleeping too.
Glad to know I am not the only one with a fan on my make-up table!!LOL
This brings back terrible memories. Yes, the hot flashes were the worst. Glad it's over but how come I look so old now? Maybe it's because I am. LOL Oh well, it isn't fun but it happens to us all.
Hugs,
Charlotte
I just fed your fish. That's pretty clever.
Oh I am soooooooooooooooo going through the 7 dwarfs!! Sleep comes when it wants! Hot flashes in the middle of the night for me...just oooooooooooooooo! I HATE IT! I started back to school and all I say to my aide is... I'm SO HOT!!! I don't want to take hrt but am looking into what Dr. Phil's wife does. Read her book... "What's Age Got to Do With It" It is very good! Nancy from OHIO

I'm "friends" with all the guys! Sometimes I just about faint I get so darn hot...and I always ride the bike at the gym that has the fan otherwise I couldn't stand the heat! Isn't life fun!
I've not had to deal with this yet, but I turn 50 this year, so it's coming soon!
I've had an intimate relationship with the dwarfs Sleepy and Forgetful since birth. Hopefully the others will Hi-Ho somewhere else!
Seriously, there are some very easy things that can be done to help with those symptoms. My sister went to a Nurse Practitioner who helped her with nutritional supplements and herbal stuff. I have talked to some folks who can't find any relief. Hopefully it doesn't last for long.
Oh my...Kat and all you wonderful ladies .. may these guys go away from you soon.. but I'm not going to put the welcome mat out for them at my door!! I love the pic with the fan ... and the little kitten with fan too!
You know they can put a man on the moon ... but they haven't found how to stop these pesky guys... Here's hoping they find a solution in the next 10 years or so...
Hugs (with a cold towel) ..HHL
Kat-
I have met these dwarfs and behaved like these dwarfs, but unfortunately NOT because I am in menopause. My doctor promises me that as long as I am still "regular" I am not pre-menopause or in menopause! I guess I am just naturally a grumpy hot mess!
Stay cool!
Love,
Kari
I think I'm just about all past this stuff. I probably started too early because of my hysterectomy. I was on a hormone patch for three years, then the study that linked it with cancer came out, and I quit. And THEN menopause hit with a vengeance!
My poor students experienced the brunt of it. I always had to have my classroom windows open, because as soon as I'd start playing the piano I'd get a hot flash and feel like I was going to explode.
Oh, those guys won't go away! I should be way past the hot flashes, but NO.....still torturing me. Sometimes it's hard to be a woman!!!

I am going through these symptoms too. I talked to my Doctor and she said this can go on for years! Yikes!
I read your blurb at the bottom of your blog about please allow you to be a blessing to someone today. I love that. You are!

I am so excited about the supplement that a blog friend guided me to....I have not had one hot flash sine I started on them...almost unbelievable
I'm right there with you, girlfriend!! These hot flashes are no fun. Although I will tellyou. Ih vea not had them to play.
Kat, Hope you can get some meds that will help. I dread it... I hope menopause is years away.
How old were you when yours started?
Nope I do not want to see them either! I am only experiencing being very warm when I wake up sometimes in the middle of the night or first thing in the morning but NO hot flashes or anything else yet!!
Please don't send them my way!!

I take nutrional supplements from the health food store... and they do help... a bit! Nancy from OHIO
Love it!! My stepdaughter gave a mini fan to hang around my neck one year. It always stays close by especially when we go on a trip!!
By the way, my daughter got off her coumdin (blood thinner)yesterday! It has been a whole year since that awful time. Being on it she would have hot flashes, and I told her now she will be prepared for later. Oh great she said!!
I endured the 7 dwarves and all the other miseries in my 5os after a surgical hysterectomy. By ENDURED I mean I got no drug, herb or other help because of certain other medical condition. It is called COLD TURKEY which lasted a long time, but now have very few occasional hot flashes at night.
UGH! This is so hard! I will burn slam up sometimes! Hot flashes...

I am very familiar with the ALL SEVEN DWARVES!!!!
Kat, I can not believe that you posted this. This has been some of what has been going on; hence the email to you. Thank you friend, I thought I was alone.......
