A QUOTE, A BIRTHDAY, TWO AWARDS AND A REMINDER

Color Me Happy! George grilled us some wonderful steaks tonight. You know how sometimes things just taste too wonderful for words? Well, my steak was just that tonight. And I sliced some tomatoes and covered them with feta cheese and then drizzled with Greek dressing. My, oh my! Now here I sit (full as a tick as my Grandmother used to say) with the last of my red wine and just one (not 3) pieces of dark chocolate. Yep...Color Me Happy!! Here's a quote I saw recently and I'm hoping it's the truth!

"Chocolate and wine have many preservatives. Preservatives make you look younger."

We had steak tonight too. The hubby is getting to be quite the pro at this and I love him for it. He doesn't cook otherwise. You deserve both those awards and more. AND can you believe how fast the 17th rolls around?

Sweet Kat, congratulations on your 3rd blogging birthday. I haven't been at it as long as you have... barely a year for me... but yours is an inspiration to me. I love how you just share from your life and experiences. It encourages me.

Blesssings,
Christi

Yummy dinner!

I can't believe you have been blogging for 3 years. I think I have been at it for a year and a half. It really is adicting..but I love it when my daughters tell me that they saw something I posted!

To answer your question about the chains on the horses feet. They are used as a training device. Some horses react to them by picking their feet up higher..like if you put something on the feet of a cat or dog. A horse must be naturally talented - but that is just the beginning. You have to teach them head collection, cadence and ask them to give you more. It is interesting how they respond to simple praise. Lunge him with out the chains...then stop him, put the chains on and when he uses his legs more - I praise him. Take the chains off and he still uses his legs better than before!

Some day I will do a more extensive post about it. The difference is amazing.

Okay - so now I have a question for you: I am in a real hurry (1 month) to lose 10 pounds and one of the things I am starting today is a high protein diet. I find this very boring though - can you give me some menu options - and preferably simple things that I can take to work.

This morning I had 4 egg whites for breakfast. For lunch I brought some lunch meat and cheese and some pickles. I need to go to the grocery store after work.

I walk the parking lot almost every day, (unless it is pouring down rain) since I have to sit all day at work.

My failure time is in the evening. I have tons of chores to do - but I know I eat lots of carbs..not junk food - just carb heavy food. Thanks!
