FRIDAY - BIRTHDAY FUN

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!

We took Mom out for breakfast at Another Broken Egg to celebrate her birthday. It's one of our favorite places for breakfast. The food is always good and the coffee is too.

When I asked the waitress to take our photo since it was Mom's birthday, she brought Mom a breakfast birthday surprise at the end of our meal. My oh my! It was delicious and enough for all three of us to enjoy. It had a biscuit split and covered with hot blackberries and juice and then topped with whip cream and drizzled with the hot juice. Sooooo good! We were all full from our breakfast, but managed to eat it. LOL

We had another wonderful day of playing games and Mom and I did some more yard work. Tonight George grilled some burgers for us and we topped them with mushrooms and onions. Yummy!

The girls are leaving in the morning. The time goes by too quickly.

Kat - It is wonderful that you can spend time with your mom and aunt. When I reach their ages, I hope to be like the two of them...going, doing, laughing, playing, eating birthday breakfasts, and enjoying being with the ones I love. This is how it should be for our seniors...not the lonely and somewhat secluded lives many seem to live. I'm glad you truly enjoy them both. And George's burgers sound yummy...mmmmm mushrooms and onions!!!

Have a wonderful weekend in paradise...my husband Doug and I took Friday off and headed up the shores of Lake Michigan to the Traverse City area. One of those perfect days of sun dappled water and just right temperatures in the low 80's and NO humidity. Yeah!!!! The farm stands were just loaded with peaches and sweet cherries. Praise God for our farmers!

Bye for now! Sheila from west Michigan
