SO QUIET TONIGHT

It's so quiet around here tonight. Our "nest" feels empty....sigh. My kitchen table is clean. No legos, no games, no markers or paper in sight. No little boy to snuggle with on the couch and watch a movie. No one to tuck in to bed.
~~~~~~
After church this morning, Landon and I loaded his things in the car and then he and Granddad and Miss Daisy took one last golf cart ride. And even though I hated it, it was time for him to say his goodbyes. He told Nemo (our goldfish) goodbye by hugging his bowl. How sweet is that?! He got down on the floor and petted and loved on Miss Daisy. And he and Granddad had a sweet moment of saying goodbye.
(The verdict is still out on George's leg...sometimes it seems much better and then the pain comes back??!!...so, of course, he couldn't make the trip with us.)
Landon and I made a quick lunch stop at "the love of his life" (his words). Cute story: I asked him why he called it the "love of his life" and being the silly 8 year old that he is, he said "because she's so good". I said "she?". He said "yep, her first name is Bell and her last name is Taco and she's Mexican". Oh, how he made me laugh! He ate his four tacos and we were on our way.
Landon and "the girls"
I asked him this morning if he was ready to go home and he said "not really, but kinda". I told him I knew the feeling. It's always fun to travel and visit people we love, but it's always nice to go home. The closer we got to meeting his Mom, the more he seemed excited. I don't think he was homesick at all until today...just knowing it was time to go, I think his mind was already on home. He missed his sisters I could tell. He calls them "the girls". Several times during the week he would say things like "I wonder if the girls miss me?". Almost every day, he would talk with them on the phone. It's so sweet to see the love they have for each other. I'm sure tonight they were celebrating to have him home.
~~~~~~
It was a wonderful fun week.
I sure miss him.....

What a cool kid! So Bell Taco is a Mexican girl, ha, ha, ha!! So why do we usually call her by her last name first, I wonder??!!

I bet he went home with many great memories. How sweet that he calls his sisters the girls. Where does fall in the order of birth? My son was in the middle of the two girls. A tough place to be but he is very protected of them both. I'll continue to keep George in my daily prayers Kat, it must be so frustrating for him to have good days and then bad ones.

The house always seems emptier after the grandchildren visit. Takes awhile for me to get back into my routine.

Cute story, Taco Bell.

I hope George is completely healed, soon!

Have a wonderful week, Kat!

Looks like everyone had a good time with Landon's visit. Cute shirt about sister driving him crazy. No wonder it's quiet around your place. I'm sure you and George will settle in.

Hey Kat,
Got your voice mail...sorry I missed you. I know you enjoyed Landon. But, 8 year old boys do make lots of noise...so I bet it is quiet around there!

Glad you had such a good time with your grandson. I had to laugh at the Taco Bell story. Our son is 45 years old, and Taco Bell is still his favorite restaurant. He and his sister have always had a close relationship.

OK, this story about Landon's visit is adorable! I'll never be able to drive by a Taco Bell again without calling it "Senorita Belle Taco"...LOL!
Thanks for sharing your blog address with me, I'll be back often to see what you've been up to!
