Doesn't my pool look inviting?
Since I've had this darn sinus infection I haven't felt like doing much, so I've spent some time by the pool this week. I've enjoyed getting in the pool to cool off and I've even done a little water aerobics. Well yesterday as I was EXITING the pool, I saw the snake on one of the steps.
Have you seen someone walk on water?
No? Well, you should have been here yesterday.
It turns out that the snake was dead, but still !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GROSS!
I must have stepped right over it when I entered the pool. Ugh!
Hugs and kisses,
Kat
(Thank for all the well wishes. I'm feeling a tad better this morning and I'm going to church.)

Aiaaaagh!
Dead??? Have your checked your chlorine levels? :-)
I have a lot of snakes in my yard right now , they creep me out because you dont know they are there until they scare the living daylights out of you. I could just picture you making a beeline out of the pool. lol Donna
So glad you're feeling a bit better this morning!! Yeah, I'd probably have tried to walk on water too!! Glad he was dead, though. :)
Yuk, yuk, yuk! I know there are lots of nice, helpful snakes around Sandestin but they all scare the dickens out of me and I've not learned how to calm down and ask the snake politely "Are you a good snake or a bad snake?" LOL!
I'm glad you're feeling a little better!
miss U!
Robin
Everytime I get into the pool, I'll remember I should have checked before I got in!!! Old age! Then I have to get out...carefully...so as not to disturb him should he be in there...and then check and then get back in! Crazy!!!
Robin - There is no such thing as a nice snake! They are all horrible and yucky and scary!
Noah should never have allowed them on the Ark!
Kat - Glad to hear that you're feeling a little better. I hate spring and summer colds.
I am beyond scared of snakes. Absolutely hate them. We have had them in our pool before. I have also had one coiled around my door hinge. Drove quit a ways with it there, unbeknownst to me. Completely freaked out when I opened the car door. Was not a pleasant experience for anyone around me!
Walk on water...you would have seen this chick take FLIGHT !!!!
Gald you're better !!!
Kathy :)
Glad to hear you are feeling better. I hear you on the gross snake. I almost stepped on a live one hiking this spring in the Smokies. I was stupid enough to stop and take his picture. I think I posted it too.
I'm glad you're feeling a little better. Although pools must be commonplace in your part of the world, I can't help thinking that a sinus infection might be wiped out faster beside a pool than from behind a desk!
Yesterday I watched a very big robin try to pick a small snake. The snake was lucky and the robin went away hungry.
There is nothing I hate worse than snakes. Gross!!! I'm like you, they scare me, even when they are dead. My friend and I have seen a lot of snakes this summer while walking in the park. One day we screamed so loud, the park ranger came running. He thought something terrible had happened. LOL!! It was a big copperhead, but he didn't kill it. He let it crawl back into the woods! You will be scared to get back into your pool. At the lawn and garden here, they have some kind of pellets that you put out around ponds, pools, etc. but I don't know about using any of that kind of thing with dogs around. You would have to check. My best friend had a snake in her waterfall and pond in her yard last year and it freaked her out bigtime! Yuk!!! Glad you are feeling well enough to go to church. I love to start my week off with praise and worship at church. Don't you? Have a nice day. Love & blessings from NC!
Hi Kat,
Oh my! That would have completely freaked me out.
Hope your sinus infection is better and your are feeling 100% soon.
Take care and have a fabulous week.
Blessings,
Sandy
Ooooh Kat, I'm am deathly afraid of snakes! I mean I have such a phobia that if i'm looking at a magazine and I turn the page and there's a picture of one I'll scream and drop the magazine on the floor. I don't know what I'd do if I saw a real one. That said I'm glad you're feeling better and your pool and garden area are really lovely. Hope you continue to feel better and no more snakes please.
Me too, too, too, too, too!!! I hate snakes. I don't know what I would have done had I been you. Terrified, no matter if they are "friendly" or not. Hubby likes them. Doesn't understand why I don't find them remotely attractive.
Aaggh! I bet you moved so fast!
Your pool is so inviting. I guess the snake just couldn't resist. We've never had a dead snake in our pool but we do find a dead bird from time to time. It's always sad.
I'm glad you're feeling better and were able to go to church and witness the baptisms.

I am glad that you are feeling better. You will have to admit that snakes do give a sick person some get up and go!
Glad you're feeling better girly, but Oh ... Ick ... snakes are not my favorite thing either. I would have come up out of that water like a rocket without even touching it and gone screaming into the house whether it was dead or not. *shudder* You're having a rough time lately around that pool, aren't you? First the mulch guys and now a dead snakes. Take care of you. xxoo
ewww. spooky!
I'm laughing but I know had it been me, I'd be freaking out and then making a homeschool project out of it. LOL!!!! too funny.
The "walking on water" question cracked me up! I can imagine I would have been moving quicker than normal too had I had that happen to me! Eeww! I just shuddered thinking of swimming with a snake!
Lol. You and I have the same set up... three loungers with flowers and a critter in the pool. Mine was a rat! EEK!
