BEACH BAPTISMS

***this post was imported over from my other blog Beachkat/Starting Over****
Our church is half a block from the beach. Today we had a short service of songs, prayer and communion and then walked over to the beach for the baptism of 9 members of our congregation.

We made our way down the steps from the street level to the beach....

and began to gather by the water....
Our minister, Ronnie speaks to all of us....
and then had a few words to those who would be baptized.
It was a privilege to watch....
The youngest today was one of Ronnie's sons. I can't imagine how Ronnie must have felt.
It was quite a way out to the deeper water so one person would start out as another came back to shore.
This couple was baptized separately, but wanted to witness each other's baptism so they went together. So sweet!
HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE!

Hugs and kisses,
Kat

I love the beach baptisms we have with our church also. I think it is such a unique opportunity for us Floridians. One day I hope to be able to attend a sunrise service on the beach at Easter. Enjoyed your pictures and seeing others in our Christian family following Christ's example!

It looks like you had a beautiful day for the baptism. I have only seen one other baptism in the ocean and it was on a California beach. This is so lovely.

How marvelous. I've never seen anyone baptized in the ocean. I would have loved to have been there. When we were in Israel years ago we saw several people baptized in the River Jordan. That was special.

What a wonderful day everyone had 'bathing' in God's glory. I would have loved to have been re-baptised with the whole community around like that. And in my favorite Ocean water too (the Atlantic). Thanks for sharing it all with us. xxoo

What a special service. Thanks so much for sharing the pictures! Our minister announced today at church that our church is going to have a baptism at a lake in August. I would love to go and witness that. In the mountains where my Grandparents are from, they baptize in the river during the summer. I have seen that done before and it is a very moving experience. I hope you are feeling better. Love & blessings from NC!
