A SWEET HOMECOMING

It's great to be home tonight even though it was hard leaving this afternoon. I knew it was going to be a very short trip, since I have a doctor's appointment in the morning and needed to be home tonight, but the time went by entirely too quickly.

I know I've said it before, but I sure do love my daughter-in-law, Angela. We have a special relationship...she's not just my daughter-in-law, she's my friend too. It's so easy for us to talk and share. We have great conversations. Short trips like this one always leaves me wanting more. I am blessed to have her in my life.

**********************************************

I arrive home to a nice surprise. My sweet friend, Karen at Karen's Ramblings, awarded me the "One Sweet Treat to Read" award. Coming from her, it makes it even more special! Thank you so much Karen! Karen is always sending sweet e-mails and comments. Just today she sent this message -
I read this quote this morning and thought of you, by the way:
"Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift!"

See what I mean....she's a sweetie!

Here's how this award works:

1. Once you've been awarded, make a post and award it to bloggers who you deem "One Sweet Treat to Read" everyday.
2. Make sure you inform those who you awarded that they have won!
3. Grab the button and proudly display it in your sidebar for all your old/new readers to see!

As always, there are so many of you whose blogs are "Sweet Treats" to read! I pass this award on to: Teresa at Living The Life and Sheila at Gim'Me Memories.

*******************************************************

And last Friday I got another sweet surprise when Jennifer at The Beaufort Lookout awarded me "The Christmas Spirit Award". Since I received this a few days ago and passed it on, I won't pass it on again, but receiving it a second time is just as special because this is a special award which I don't take lightly.

"What is the Spirit of Christmas you ask? Quite simply it is those that have a generous and giving nature. Those who care about others. Those who have a kind word to say or a broad shoulder to lean on in the times that others need that. Those who display the "Spirit of Christmas".

It's always nice to receive awards and feel the love from my sweet blog friends. Thank you so much Jennifer...I am truly touched.

I know what you mean about short, sweet visits leaving you wanting more. That seems to be the story of our lives, doesn't it?

Congratulations on the awards. Reading your posts is always a sweet treat.

I'm glad you had fun AND a safe trip. Those visits like that, and having to leave, are exactly why I'm NOT looking forward to my nieces moving. (I'm still praying that doesn't come to fruition though!)

I'm catching up on my blog reading. Sounds like everyone east of the Contential Divide got some nasty weather this weekend. My in-laws in SD said they got nailed with rain and wind also. Glad to hear it's over.

Congratulations on your awards! And I'm glad the headaches are gone!

I'm not surprised that you like your dil so much. You are a kind and empathetic person and I can't imagine you ever having a bad word about anyone. I am positive even without knowing her that she feels the same way about you.

Glad that you had a nice visit, Kat. I pray that one day I will have DIL's that are good friends and the daughters I never had!
Congrats on all your awards too - as always, you are very deserving!
