A LOT ON MY MIND TODAY :-)

PRAISE GOD!

I went for my mammogram this morning and everything is good! Yippee! I'm doing the happy dance, but if you could see me, I might look like this:

Thanks for all your sweet comments and prayers! God is so good...all the time! I have to admit that I was pretty nervous, which is to be expected afterall, but He was there with me every single second.

*********************************************
I also had my bone density test, but my doctor won't have the results for 3-4 days.

***************************************************
It has rained ALL day and it has been cool, gray and dreary. I got wet running from the car into the hospital this morning and you KNOW how cold they keep hospitals! It's crazy cold in every hospital I've ever been in. Since then, I can't seem to get warm. It's that bone cold feeling. I came home right after lunch and quickly changed into comfie warm up pants and a sweatshirt and socks and I'm still so cold. Brrrr!
****************************************************

We had a good crowd at the Tuesday Lunch Bunch today. As I've said before, I'm usually the youngest one there each week, but these ladies are fun and they have been so good to me since I moved here almost 7 years ago. Love 'em! ***************************************************
Wow! This was in our paper:

Six friends went to the Destin Fishing Rodeo on Saturday to catch some grouper. They caught an 844-pound 11 foot shark instead. They were on a 52-foot charter boat about 70 miles southwest of this beach city. The fishermen first noticed the big mako because it kept eating grouper and scamp they had hooked. One of the fishermen said "It was like Jaws". After it was gutted, the 844-pounder still weighed 638 pounds, breaking the tournament's record by 338 pounds.

***************************************************
But let's not end today on a scary note. Instead let's end on something very sweet! Look what Kari passed on to me! The "Christmas Spirit" award. And I can't think of anyone who loves Christmas more than "our" sweet Kari!

What is the Spirit of Christmas you ask? Quite simply it is those that have a generous and giving nature. Those who care about others. Those who have a kind word to say or a broad shoulder to lean on in the times that others need that. Those who display the "Spirit of Christmas".This is the only award that I am releasing that you may pass on to others. I am giving it to five and you should too. Those that have touched your heart with their kind and giving and caring nature.
Wow... After reading what this award means, I feel so honored that Kari passed this on to me. Thank you so much Kari! I now pass this special award on to:

Tonja at Gatherings

Jean at What's Up At The Stauffers?

Dianne at Glasses of Grace

Tracey at Show Me State...of Mind.

I could go on and on. There are SO many of you out there who have touched my heart with your kind and giving and caring nature! I appreciate and love you ALL!

After I made my comment yesterday I read your blog- and first of all I am glad you are a Breast cancer survivor and that your mamogram had good results today!
One of my sister-in-laws is also a breast cancer survivor- so I know what that title entails.
Your comic was great!

We share the love of flip flops, and tennis, and games and many other things- but those were the ones that stuck out in my mind.

Congrats on your Christmas award-from the blogs I read of yours it is well deserved.

Go Celebrate!

So glad to hear the mammo is over! Hope you finally warmed up... Put on some warm fuzzies, sip on some hot tea, and enjoy some comfy time with the hubby & Miss Daisy. You've had a busy few days!

What a funy cartoon! I know the feeling! So happy that your report was good. Thank-you,Jesus!

It has been damp and rainy here today, too. Fortunately, my school is having fall break, so I could stay in all day...in my jammies...being lazy!

Well, since I started my Christmas shopping last weekend, this new award is quite appropriate! Thanks so much for passing it on to me. I love Christmas and all that comes with it!

I left a big, long comment earlier, but it disappeared when I hit publish.

Anyway, I'm so happy for your good mammogram results.

And thanks so much for the kind comments regarding the award.

You're so welcome for the award. No one on the list was more deserving than you, that's for sure! I'm glad your mammogram was good. I guess I'll be going for mine soon. Good times, eh? lol

I read about that shark on MSN.com! What a monster! I can't even remember the last time anyone I know fished in the Destin Rodeo...used to be such a big deal when we lived there in Holt. But now that we're in Texas, we just don't ever hear about it. It was kind of cool to read about the rodeo on MSN. And even cooler to see you mention the same thing on your blog! Makes me feel almost like I've never left! lol

I'm so glad the appointment went well and I pray that all your results are totally problem free. You must weary of all these appointments at times aye? Lovely pic of you all at the Brunch. You always look flawless, how do you do it?

Ok to explain - my phobia of yellow. It began as a child in my pre christian days. I seemed to attract wasps and get stung a lot (those yellow/black stripes started to freak me out), aged 13 I fell off a horse and hurt myself a fair bit - the colour of the reins I saw as tumbling - bright yellow. Now from aged 14 until recent years I steered clear of yellow totally, well this year I started to think - why let this phobia after all these years play a part in my life? So I'm celebrating yellow now!!

I hope the brests doesn't look that way after a mamography, at least they feel like it LOL.

A shark!!! Is is possible to eat them? I'm so happy we don't have neither sharks or crocodiles in this country LOL.
Love Elzie

Hi JustaBeachKat-

I am visiting via my sister-in-law, Theresa's blog. Congratulations on being a breast cancer survivor-as Terri said, our other sister-in-law is also a survivor.

I loved your lunch bunch picture. My old school had a "lunch bunch" of the displaced (meaning no classroom of our own) teachers. Glad you have a fun group to enjoy.

Nice to meet you and I'll check back. You can visit me at snoopmurph.blogspot.com

That's some big fish!

Congrats on your award!

When I'm cold like that I usually have to take a hot shower in order to warm up. I swear my bones are cold then!

That cartoon cracked me up. So glad your mammogram was good. I really like older ladies too. They seem to have the art of enjoying life down pat.

Kat, Thank you for the award! I am so happy to get it, it means so much to me. I will display it proudly.

Great news on your mamo! It must be a bit scary for you....I can only imagine what it must be like. Have you seen the cartoon of the "man o gram"? It's a man with his privates flattened just like in the cartoon you posted. It's funny!

You have a great day & Thank you so very much.

Hugs, DebraK

When I get that cold - there is only 1 way I can warm up - hot water...either the hot tub or a hot bath! Showers don't even work. I am so glad to hear everything went well with your exam!
