LOOKING FOR LASTING JOY
~Romans 15:13 NKJV ~
May the God of hope fill you with all joy.
~Romans 15:13 NKJV ~
How often have you found what you were looking for in life, only to realize it didn't bring you the satisfaction you thought it would? It is life's ultimate frustration -- thinking we will find fulfillment in the things of this world. But they can never bring lasting happiness. As one bumper sticker I saw expressed it, "All I want is a little more than I have now." We look for love, security, and happiness through our jobs, our possessions, our relationships -- but if they really brought lasting joy, wouldn't we have testimonies to that effect from millions of people all over the world? Instead, we find emptiness, discontent, and hopelessness. Try putting Christ first and watch how your life is turned around. You will discover that He alone is the source of the love, peace, and joy you have been searching for.

I agree with you Kat. It's rather common I think that we long for things we don't have and don't get satisfied when we got them. I have found that out several times myself. I hope you have a good weekend.

GREAT GREAT POST!! I loved it!! You couldn't be more right. It's not the material things of the world that bring happiness. Granted, it doesn't hurt either. But true happiness can only come from within. Thank you, Kat for this blessing this morning.
Love,
Julie

Wonderful words! Yes, we all need "just a little more"...but of Christ...not the things of the world.
Thanks for the good thoughts this morning!
Isn't that the truth! Great post Kat!
Much needed words Kat. Thanks and have a great weekend.
Loved reading your post today, Kat. For some reason we do seem to always want a little more. And oh, how good it feels when we get it. But the feeling does not last. We always start to want more, and get frustrated. But when we put Jesus first and keep Him there, whew!!! what a feeling!
Perfect post for a Friday... when we are all looking for the answer this weekend, this will get us through!
He alone is the only source of REAL joy.

Excellent, excellent post Kat, Jesus Christ is all we need. As the Pennsylvania Dutch would say, "Why are we too soon old and too late shmart" to figure that out?
How true! When I try to be "happy" I rarely am - but when I learn to be content, then I find happiness.
That is so true...if only I remembered to do that every day.
I just left you an award. If you will hop on over to the Beaufort Lookout and pick it up! PS...It is a Christmas award!!
So true, but so hard to live. Thanks for the reminder, Kat.
Very true and so easy to forget! Thanks for the reminder! Have a great weekend!
This kinda reminds me of Leanne's post about our 'Girl Talk' thing at church the other night...just trusting God and being content in all circumstances. Great post..thanks!
Love this post! Thank you for the gentle reminder of what is truly important. Happiness is within each of us. Linda
