HOPEFULNESS

It's good to be home, although it was hard to leave Beth. Thank you all for your very sweet comments and especially your prayers for Beth and for me.

When I was at the hospital the other day with her, I picked up a prayer booklet provided as a ministry of the Pastoral Care Department at Saint Thomas Hospital. One of the prayers is called

HOPEFULNESS
Oh Lord God, I have no idea where I am going, I do not see the road ahead of me,
I cannot know for certain where it will end.
Nor do I really know myself and the fact that I think I am following your will does not mean that I am actually doing so.
But I believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you and I hope I have that desire in all that I am doing.
I will trust you always though I may seem to be lost and in the shadow of death I will not fear, and you are ever with me, and you will never leave me to make this journey alone.

What an inspirational post. I LOVE this sentence:

But I believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you and I hope I have that desire in all that I am doing.

Thanks for sharing this, Kat.

I agree with Jean: "But I believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you and I hope I have that desire in all that I am doing." I had to read that sentence twice myself. Very powerful.

So glad you got to spend some time with Beth.
I can only imagine how hard it is for her right now.
