A VERY SWEET MEMORY

Today when I visited Antique Mommy I saw the photo and the title of her post (Over The Rainbow) and I thought "This is gonna be good!" and it was. Even though it made me weepy, it brought back sweet memories of my little boy and his delight in blowing bubbles and seeing the rainbow colors in the bubbles. He was just a little guy when we first started using jars of bubbles, maybe 18 months or so, and he loved watching me blow the bubbles and he'd run around and chase them. I'd laugh and blow some more. Later, he learned to blow his own bubbles and he loved the colors in the bubbles and how he could make them disappear with just a touch of his tiny finger. He's married now with three children of his own, but I can still see him blowing those bubbles and being fascinated with the bubbles while I was fascinated with him.
Thanks Antique Mommy for bringing back a very sweet memory.

Awwww....I loved hearing about your time with your son, and this post brought back sweet memories for me, too. Isn't it amazing how some of the simplest things can make us recall in vivid detail special times long ago?

I hope that you have a fun weekend!

Hi Kat, I read that post this morning, too. Boy did it bring back some sweet memories. Before Alex was born, we had such fun fixing up a nursery for him. We did it all in rainbows. Adam even painted a rainbow for him and we had it framed. Sweet memories.

I read her post too and was all teary and weepy! She has such a way with words and I always look forward to the insights she has!

Our children grow up too fast, don't they? I sometimes wish now that I could go back and relive every moment when Zack was growing up!

I started reading Antique Mommy's blog a couple of months ago from following the link on your sidebar and must say, I have never been disappointed. She certainly knows how to describe the 'small moments' and just how huge they really are! You are right, today's was a great post.

Time sure does go by so fast when we parent. I pray the Lord will allow my mind to remember special moments, like you've described, with my kids.
Blessings

It is the little moments like this that create the biggest memories. I need to remember to slow down and savor these moments!
