MISSING THE BOAT

We sold our boat after my breast cancer and radiation and then my broken bones and physical therapy since we just weren't using it much. But...oh, now that things are good, I'm sure missing it. Especially this time of year. Just look at that beautiful water! We used to have the bestest times out on Crab Island. We used to take the boat out just to watch the sunset. Sometimes, we'd have picnics and cocktails either on the boat or we'd pull up on shore. And sometimes we'd take the boat and drive right up to a restaurant. What memories! I wonder if I can talk Mr. George into getting another one? Hmmmmm???

You're right, the water is absolutely gorgeous in your area!

This time of year, a boat would be awesome. Just watching the sunset like that would be a treat!

Lisa and George had a boat for a few years before Sophie, and we did have some of the best times out on that boat.

I think it would be easy to talk him into it if you just show him this picture and have him read this post...you convinced me!! It's so gorgeous where you live, Kat!

Oh it does look devine. I believe you need to start twisting his arm. Tell him how much Miss Daisy would like the boat. (lol)

I found you thru Boomama and Bigmama- Love your blog- I was looking for some Southern blogs to read and yours is great- I'm jealous of the fact you live at the beach- I live on a pond!!! but that counts as water, right???

My husband and I own a boat and although we are bound to a much smaller body of water than you are talking about - I understand you missing yours. My very favorite boating event: In early December - taking the boat out at night to look at the Christmas decorations. The lake residents decorate the back of their homes as much if not more than the front with lights - and it was absolutely beautiful! Wine added a nice touch too and helped to keep us warm!

I think you should tell him you polled your bloggin' friends and we all vote for a boat! So Mr. George should buy another boat. And really we want this for him more than anything. We want him to feel the breeze on his face, to skim across the water like glass to feel the waves gently rocking your boat as you sit and enjoy the day. Do you think this will work?

Oh, poor little thing. But really, she's lucky because she's a dog. Trust me, the hot flashes last a lot longer for people ladies.

Thank you for your sweet comment, Kat. Rob and I will be fine. We've turned it over to the Lord. And the knowing that a new grandbaby is on the way really softened the blow for us.

We are blessed.
