A GIRL'S GOTTA DO WHAT A GIRL'S GOTTA DO

Yep, I'm still dealing with hot flashes. And let me tell you, it ain't pretty and it ain't fun...especially in the humidity and heat we've been having around here.

Hot flashes are fascinating though. It's amazing that our bodies can do this. I mean I'm perfectly normal (?) one second and the next there is a volcano blowing hot steam that starts in my belly and rushes toward my head and in a split second I'm boiling H.O.T!

Kari wrote a very funny and accurate post about menopause. Go here to take a look. I warn you, it's not pretty.

I love these little cartoons that you post! I just visited Kari's blog and could so relate ~ early menopause for me as well at 39 yrs. old.
Have a great "cool" weekend.

I'm not dreading it really, just think it will be funny to be hot all the time and it will be so noticeable because I'm always the 'cold' girl who needs a blanket or sweater, even in the Summer... imagine how odd it will be when I am fanning myself :o)

Kat, thanks for the comments. I'm struggling. I don't know if it's the HRT or what. It seems like I'm either burning up or crying. Can't wait to get past this. I'm normally much...perkier! I keep telling myself that time will help. HAHAHA

By the way, thanks for the link on your blog. I've been getting some nice comments from people who read me through you. I can use all the support available right now!

ooooh, it hasn't hit me yet, but I have a feeling it's right around the corner. I'm only experiencing a few symptoms of the dreaded menopause so far...like some insomnia. I am NOT looking forward to this!!

Here in England we call them hot flushes, doesn't make them any different!
I just always make sure I have on a layer of clothing that I can remove without compromising my modesty!
Hope you don't mind me logging on to your blog, I am loving reading it.
It still amazes me that I can get a little insight into life on the other side of the 'pond' just by turning on my computer.
Best wishes.

I had a complete hysterectomy 8 years ago, then wore a hormone patch for a few years, until that big study came out about heart disease, so I went off the patch. THEN I was hit big time with those heat flashes and I'm still dealing with them. I always think it feels like there's a furnace inside of me that starts up just below my belly and, just like you said, spreads on up to the top of my head. This must be part of the curse!

I have wondered if that is what the wicked witch ment when she said 'I'm Melting!'
Minnie Pause is too funny!
Thanks for helping us laugh about it.

Oh my gosh, I about fell off my chair laughing. Me, I was one of those who stuck my head in the freezer just for some relief. Where did I get that idea? The Cosby Show . . . I hit menopause early (40 or so) and didn't quite know what had hit me. Thanks for the cartoons!
