PRAYING FOR A MIRACLE

BEACHKAT is sad and worried and a bit sick at her stomach. Why?
I live on one of the world's prettiest beaches. Gorgeous sugar white fluffy sand, beautiful emerald green water....
perfection!

We're hearing the oil is just miles away........................sigh!

The Spill (from my MountainWings daily devotional)

Have you ever had a spill in your life that reminds you of the
BP mess? You know...

1. It blew up when you didn't expect it.
2. When it blew up it really hurt and made a mess.
3. The mess didn't stop when it blew up, the mess kept coming.
4. The thing that was causing the mess was deep. Too deep.
5. There was/is a tremendous amount of pressure dealing with it.
6. You have/had no idea how to fix it.
7. Everyone was giving you advice about what you should do.
8. You tried some of the advice and the mess still kept coming.
9. You really hurt some people with your mess.
10. It wasn't the people's fault whom you hurt. It was yours.
11. You tried to blame it on someone/something else.
12. It will take years to fix things.
13. Boy, do you wish you could do it over.

"Father, help me to be a blessing to someone today."

Praying too...our beautiful state is in a mess...so much culture, nature, wildlife, beauty and lives destroyed...I'm praying they stop this and stop it soon, or Louisiana will be the cesspool of the nation. And mostly I pray that it never gets to your beautiful waters.

Oh Kat--I am so upset when I hear on the news about the oil coming ashore. I feel so sorry for those already experiencing it and for my Florida west coast friends. Your beaches are so beautiful it's such a horrible shame.
Thanks for sharing from your devotional--I've had a spill or two in my life.

OH, Kat! That's one of the best sermons about a bad thing I've ever seen.

Your analogy is perfect, and you said it so well.

Prayers and thoughts from the Heartland,

We are watching very closely the oil situation and praying it does not hit your beautiful beaches. There is talk it may come around the Keys and head up the eastern coast to our area too. It is a total nightmare! The CEO of BP just did a commercial on TV this AM saying it would not cost us a nickle...is he kidding me? Does he want to buy all the homes we will not be able to sell and pay the people who will be out of work etc etc. Did anyone ever think of a solution to an oil spill in the ocean BEFORE they started to drill? I bet this CEO still walks away form BP with a golden parachute and we can use a parachute to mop up his oil mess. BP would be wise to FIRE him and make him admit that he got this wrong! Can you tell I am wired today:-)

Breaks my heart to see what that oil is doing to the Gulf and all the poor animals! We are heading to the Panhandle in two weeks, still coming even if there is oil but boy it sure would be nice to get on those white beaches/emerald water. We are staying two hours away from Destin but may come in for a day.

Yes and it occurred quite late in life involving my perception of infidelity.,.

I am still dealing with it. and yes, I wish I had personally paid more attention to detail and taken a different path long ago.

I probably will spend the rest of my life correcting my course.

I've been thinking about you when I listen to the news. I am praying for you all that the oil stays away.

That was a great analogy! I am sick, too. I have resigned that it is to be for now and that we are not in control but we are blessed to know who is in control...the Lord. I am just so very sad about the wildlife, too. I am so sad that it will be a long time before we ever see the beauty that we have today. What a treasure the beauty has been during our lifetime! I hope that one day it will be that way again.

I am currently spending the summer off of 30A...it's really emotional when you walk the beautiful beach down here on the gulf coast and imagine what the oil spill can do...as I was driving over to Seaside this morning, I noticed the marshland and thought about how the oil would probably never be removed from places like that....we all have our fingers crossed and prayers going up that our stretch of beauty is left unscathed....not only for those of us who live here in the summer, but also those who earn their yearly living during these warm month....

I think they said on the news that this was Obama's Katrina. It is a terrible thing to happen. We wonder at the affect it will eventually have on all of us.

We heard it was coming up the Mississippi. This is going to have a long term effect felt even by the next generation. I have you and your lovely area in my prayers.

Our state is right above yours..and we are afraid for our beautiful beaches as well.
I am praying they find a way to stop it asap.
It just breaks my heart the loss and devastation this has cost to humans and the wildlife.
Our beautiful planet is suffering untold damage.
It is just sickening.

I'm praying, that God in His wisdom will show someone the way to fix all this. I wonder if anyone has thought to ask Him. It does belong to Him, after all!

I've been praying hard ever since I heard the oil was headed your way. After seeing white sand for the first time at Bree and Jay's wedding, I don't want to see any gunk messing it up. Keep the faith, Hon. xxoo

Yes, you do have beautiful beaches, so I'm hoping for a miracle to keep that mess from your area and from ALL the USA.

Your photos are beautiful and picture your area just perfectly.

How is George doing from his injuries? (I've been offline for a few days, so maybe you mentioned, so I'll have to read back a few entries.)

I'm praying too, Kat, for a solution that works, a God idea.

That analogy is amazing and very convicting.
