THURSDAY'S MIXED BAG

Pardon me while I brag (again). Our youngest daughter, Bree, is a neo-natal intensive care nurse. She loves to draw pictures for her babies and hangs them on their beds. The parents love it. Well, not too long ago, the hospital asked her to do murals in one of the rooms on her off days. And she got paid for it. It's something she loves to do. She had to co-ordinate when she could do it, when the room was empty and when maintenance could bring her a ladder. She finished it today and I think she did an incredible job. We're so proud of her. I know her work will put smiles on lots of faces for years to come.

WAY TO GO BREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the first wall she did....I love those cute monkeys! And the elephant makes me smile.

But just look at the tiger....how cute!!!!!

But wait...I love the zebra.....

and the giraffe....

oh, and this sweet lion.....

and the squirrel hiding in the tree is darling too.

Today I went crazy with my exercising. I rode my bike over to the gym on the bayside, did 30 minutes on the treadmill, did the weights and then rode my bike over to the village and met George and Miss Daisy for lunch. After lunch, I rode another 5 miles before going home for awhile. Then (yes there's more) I rode another 10 miles this afternoon with George. i'm guessing I rode about 20 miles total today. Why all the bike riding? I'll tell you....tomorrow...how's that for a cliffhanger?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here's what I'd love for breakfast on Mother's Day! Blueberry filled pancakes. Yummy! William Sonoma sells a special "filled pancake" pan, but I'm wondering if I could make them just using my small muffin pans. I think I could. Go here to see the pan and to get the recipe. Don't they look wonderful?!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

And last, but not least...guess whose birthday is tomorrow (Friday the 25th)? It's our sweet friend, Teresa at Living The Life.

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TERESA!!!!!!!!!!

Can I have the bed by the lion?

Bet you're going somewhere really special. Can't wait to hear.

I'm feeling very frustrated and a bit discouraged about the things that seem to be conspiring to keep me from exercising just now. Yesterday after school it was one errand gone wrong after another, and till it was all said and done it was 7 PM and I just went home to my computer. Great exercise indeed.

Bree's artwork is absolutely amazing! What a gift!

What a great job! I just love those eyes on Mr. Elephant! And the lion looks as though he is watching over whoever happens to be placed in that little bed. This is such a rewarding project for her I'd think. I have a dear friend who is a neo-natal nurse and my heart just breaks with some of the stories she shares. Bree has added some sunshine for the dear folks who would much rather be somewhere else.

I LOVE our William Sonoma store in the International Mall here in Tampa. And yes, those filled pancakes are tempting me to fall off the wagon!!

All of your exercising just amazes me. If you read my recent post, you'll see I'm proud for my one hour walk and 15 min. on the ecliptical. LOL I'll use you to inspire me to continue my baby steps!
God bless you Kat and have a super weekend.

Wow, what a talented daughter you have. The pictures are fantastic. The Mother's Day breakfast sounds like a good idea. We went out to breakfast this morning at Coco's. I love their oatmeal (steel cut).

Wow! Bree is so talented! I know the entire hospital must love having her there. She made it such a happy place for the children and parents to visit. I know you are so proud of her. I am in awe of your bike riding! I need to do that more. I have started running again some and I should bike more. It has been so warm and pretty here. Meanwhile if you get the blueberry breakfast I want some. :) I hope that you do. You deserve it!Have a great day sweet friend!

WOW! I made it to the gym today which is a great acheivement but 20 miles on the bike!!! Awesome.
LOVE LOVE LOVE the paintings your daughter did - you didn't tell me she paints!
Yummy on the pancakes - I think you're right the cupcake pan would probably work - it does wonders for a bit of brownie mix, a reese's peanut butter cup and then more brownie mix too!
Happy Birthday to Teresa.
Have a fabulous weekend.
Blessings,
Sandy

Bree's murals are fabulous! I'm sure the parents of her wee patients appreciate her efforts and colorful artwork. I'm guessing you're working out so much today because you have a party tonight or tomorrow. Gotta counteract those darn calories!
