ON THE GO ALL DAY

This morning George and I both had tennis at 9 AM, so we left at 8:30 so we could ride our bikes up to the courts. I had a luncheon to attend at 12:30, so I pedaled home fast after tennis to get a quick shower.

A group of us had a poolside salad lunch to say goodbye to our friend, Lynda (in the light blue shirt). She lives here 6 months and in Canada 6 months. We're sure gonna miss her.

It was an absolutely gorgeous day...perfect to sit outside.

After the 3 hour lunch (hey, we had lots to talk about... LOL), I stopped to pick up a few groceries on the way home. Can you believe there's $90.00 worth of groceries in these 3 bags!!!

I hope you're all using the re-usuable grocery bags now. Our local Publix sells them for $1.00 each and they hold quite a bit. I like them so much better than the plastic bags AND they're environmentally friendly.

Our friend Bob and Lee (that we met in Australia) are in town and came by tonight for drinks before the four of us went out to dinner at Mitchell's Fish Market. It was great getting to see them.

I'm a tired girl tonight, so I'm off to bed. Nighty night!

Sounds like a lovely day. Isn't it neat that Publix offers classy looking bags?

Yes, I can believe that's $90 worth. I think grocery prices are following gas prices. I bought three of those reusable bags a month ago and felt so proud of myself for being so environmentally conscious, but would you believe, so far I have never remembered to carry them along back to the store to reuse them. Guess I have to put it on my list, ha, ha!

I use those bags! I have Publix, Kroger and WalMart bags. Yesterday, I was in Krogers. The bagger had filled all 4 of my bags, and there were groceries left over. He started putting them into the cart - unbagged. I asked him what he was doing and he said "There are no more bags." I had to tell him to take the remaining things and put them in a plastic bag. I wouldn't have minded a few things unbagged, but he filled 5 plastic bags, so there was a lot!

Sounds like you had a full, fun day!

Hi Kat- You are one busy gal. Let me just say I own several of the bags from Publix and love them when I remember to take them in the store with me. They do hold a lot, don't they?

Between gas and food prices rising, we'll all be skinny and at home before long :)

Oh your lunch sounds lovely. I've done the 3 hour lunches before, they are so much fun and if you pick the right spot the Management is delighted to see you again and again! We have such a place in Monroe, NC called Napoli's with some wonderful Italian dishes...you and George must come up!
hugs

I've decided I live in the wrong state...especially whenever I come here and it's yet another beautiful day! ;) Actually, Oregon is beautiful, don't get me wrong...but this has been a wetter than usual spring...plus dark and chilly! I'm not liking this spring at all, and hoping next month's a little better!

I'm always so impressed at how active you are...biking, tennis...
I just found out that my long-time friend (one of my bridal attendants) is back to playing tennis- competitively! She's 48 and is traveling all around, competing!
Also, she happens to be a breast cancer survivor...I am so proud of her!
You both are such great examples!

I am so glad to hear that about the reusable bags- We don't have a Publix, but our Kroger sells them-I just didn't know if I could really put all my groceries in them- But like someone else said-if the prices go up anymore- I am sure that it will hold bread and peanut butter just fine!
Saying a prayer for Bree- Those walls sure are cute!
