I'm not sure what kind of flowers these were, but they were so gorgeous!

We stopped back by Keedy's for lunch and tried their burgers and fries. They were okay...good, but nothing special. But Sandi, you were right...we tried the date milkshake and it was yummy. After our tummies were good and full, we headed to the tennis tournament. I didn't take too many photos today, but here's a few. It's so wonderful to sit anywhere and watch the tennis surrounded by the gorgeous mountains and the landscaping was amazing too. It was pretty warm, actually more accurately, it was HOT. We were all good about using our sunscreen.
On the way back to the condo, we stopped for dinner at PF Changs at The River. Yummy! Everyone else is already in bed and I'm headed there myself. Between our full day and being in the sun for so long, we're drained. Tomorrow we're driving to San Diego to visit the zoo. Can't wait!

Pardon me while I brag for just a sec. Our youngest daughter, Bree, is a neo-natal intensive care nurse. She draws pictures for her babies and hangs them on their beds. The parents love it. Well, the hospital asked her to do murals in one of the rooms on her off days. They are paying her. It's something she loves to do. She plans to do all 4 walls in this room, but is still working on the first wall. She has to co-ordinate when she can do it, when the room will be empty and when maintenance can bring her a ladder. Here's her work in progress. I'll post more as she goes along. It's looking cute, don't you agree?!

Oh, you have a right to brag...that mural is adorable! And what a special thing she does as a nurse!
Sounds like you're having a great time! I was just catching up on all your pictures and it sounds like a wonderful vacation! Enjoy!
The mural she's painting is amazing! How wonderful for her to liven up the room like that!
And again, your pictures are amazing too. I know I said it before, but the mountains in the background with so much beauty in the foreground make a very striking view.
Bree is doing a terrific job. What a nice way to make the space more pleasing.
Smiles!
Bree is a great artist! I bet the children will absolutely love her work of art!
Looks like you are having a wonderful time!
And oh my gosh! That Bree is one talented young lady! I can't wait to see it all done!
Beautiful pictures and your daughter did a great job! How wonderful!
Your pictures make me long for summer. I love the wild flowers.
Your daughter is very talented. Cute painting!
Hi Kat,
Love all of the photos! It really does sound like a fun time. And Bree's work is so cute. I always wished I had that kind of talent. Love the design on the wall. Have fun at the zoo.
I agree - The desert is beautiful. Before I moved here I hated the desert. Maybe "hated" is a little strong, but I certainly never thought I'd ever want to live there. After I moved here I loved it from the start.
The flowers look like gazanias. I don't know what kind of birds they are. When the picture was small I thought they looked kinda like quail, but when I enlarged it I realized they weren't.
Glad you're having such a good time. I don't care for Chinese food, but I love those big horses in front of their restaurants.
Cheers.
I think those flowers are gaillardia or blanket flowers. They are a perinnial and we have some in our back yard - they're beautiful!
Sounds like you are having a wonderful vacation! Just be careful with that sun!
Oh my gosh, Bree's mural is OUTSTANDING! Can't wait to see what it looks like finished. And she gets to make extra money to make her own work enviroment better! Neat!
Hello! Just a quick stop to say hello and to reassure you that I am still on the planet. I am working hard on the wedding but we are almost down to TWO WEEKS. I am so eager to have it but I am enjoying the getting ready and checking all the details. I miss my blogging world, though and you especially!
I envy her talent! Wow, she's good. Glad you are having fun!
I'm glad you are having fun!
I can't wait to see Bree's project develop.
What a great idea to have the walls painted in mural fashion. Good sensory stimulation for the babies.
How delighted you must be over Bree's achievements. When our children's talents are recognized, we can't help but "toot their horn" for them! She is a wonderful artist...glad you two are having fun, but if you're anything like us, I know you can't wait to get home again...
hugs
Sandi
You must be so proud of your daughter, what a wonderful gift. That wall looked fabulous.
Spectacular Kat! You have every right to be proud and to brag a tad!
Kat, as a mom, you have the honor and duty of BRAGGING on your kids. Your daughter is totally gifted and what a great way for her to still do what she loves where she loves to do it! The families, babies, and staff will be blessed because of her work!
