Well... I finally got back on track with my
diet "low carb way of eating". I planned to do it immediately after Mom and Sherry left, but after slaving away in the yard, I needed carbs energy. Come on, you know what I mean?! And then the next day I was so tired and lazy and nothing makes you feel better than comfort food, right? That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Anyhoo, today was the day to get back on track and I'm happy to report I've had two meals and I haven't cheated once. Yeah me! Hey, living in Paradise makes it hard when every day is like being on vacation, especially when friends and loved ones who ARE on vacation come here and then what's a girl to do?!?! Actually, once I get started, I feel so much better that it's worth the extra trouble. Anybody got any low carb recipes you wanna share?~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This might be funny today, but who knows about tomorrow!!!!!!!

Can't wait for Dancing With The Stars tonight. It's one show I hate to miss. Whose your favorite? I'm still predicting Jason Taylor.

I hope you have a few minutes to watch this:
If this doesn't give you sweet chills, I don't know what will. Enjoy!

Just visiting around and stopped by to check out your blog...fairly new blogger here! Love your cartoon, made me smile! :) I lost 37 pounds on low carb from June until November. In November, we went on a 7 day cruise and I only gained 1-2#'s, not too bad! Christmas came and I only gained a couple of pounds. But then Easter came and I have gained a total of 10 pounds (including the ones before). I'm just sick! :( So I'm trying to get "back in the zone," and lose those 10...plus 10 more. If you have any simple carb recipes I would love to get them from you! I have a couple that are real tasty and simple I'd be glad to share. I will try to post them on my blog either tomorrow, or Wednesday, so check in with me! Good luck with your "low carb lifestyle"! LOL! ~Rhonda :)
Wow... I have heard the story of John Newton before but never thought about where the melody came from. I also didn't know about how the Black Spirituals are all played on black keys. That was kind of cool. Thanks for sharing. I need to show this to my husband. Amazing Grace is his favorite hymn.
Kat, That was an amazing video. How interesting. I knew about the pentatonic scale, but, not how it was used by the slaves, God thinks of everything! Thanks for sharing! And to think the rune of the most beloved song of all Christians everywhere came from a slave melody!
Hi Kat,
It's chilly up north too but it's suppose to be gorgeous by thursday, can't wait. I know what you mean about eating. I kind of in a rut right now. I gained a few pounds and can see it especially in my face. Maybe I'll try the low carb thing for awhile to get this off. At least I'm moving more now that it's nice out. Have a great evening.
That did give me chills and was very interesting too. If you don't mind, I'd like to post it too.
Hi, I just love coming in and reading your blog. You always bring a smile to my face.

Wow, wow, wow!!! I don't even know what else to say after watching that video. WOW!!
Hi Kat!
I really enjoy your uplifting blog. I just got back from Weight watchers and feel your diet (lifestyle) pain! I watched what I ate, counted my points, exercised and didn't lose even 1 pound. When I arrived home my husband told me," You may not have lost any weight, but you sure have lost inches!" That made me feel better, so I tucked into a chocolate sundae! (Just kidding about the sundae!)

I think it will come down to Jason Taylor and Kristi Yamaguchi. She is very very good but do feel that her ice skating gives her an advantage.
Hugs,

I'm with you on the living in paradise. We've been "vacationing" a little to much. Were trying to get back on track.
its a tough life In the sunshine state. Although, I am ready for my summer temps again.
Sweet Chills indeedy! For Christmas, my hubby bought the movie entitled "Amazing Grace" which tells the story of how a member of the English parliament worked so hard to abolish the slave shipe and slave trades in Europe. There are a couple of scenes which include the character of John Newton. A wonderful historical movie I suggest.
You'll do great sticking to your diet, oops, low carb way of eating! I just know you will!
And boy, did I enjoy this cool weather today!
I wore my winter jacket to a softball game today...came home and had mac & cheese for dinner. I ain't giv'n up carbs no how no way! Perhaps I'll cut down a bit, but ain't no way I'm giv'n them up entirely. I would get way too cranky! At my age, I don't want to feel deprived. At least that's my excuse for now....
Thank you for that amazing video! I got goose bumps.....what a blessing!
I could spend an hour here today but I've got to get ready for an appt. There is so much good stuff here that I missed. Be back soon.
Hugs, DebraK
