I need use way too much stuff to make myself presentable! As I did my packing for Nashville this morning, I frustrated myself trying to remember what all to pack. There's a "potion" or lotion or gel or spray or cream or brush for every part of my body. What is the deal?!
I can't believe how much has to go on my face alone!! At least three lotions plus make-up and that's just during the day! I thought of you yesterday, when I started the 30 day shred. It really does kick your butt, and I am a runner, plus I do lots of other stuff, too. Enjoy your trip to the dentist! =)
I promise it wasn't an "out loud" laugh... just a chuckle of how true your post is. I try to remind myself often that the Lord looks at the heart and not the outside.
Enjoy your trip! Glad you are feeling better to even go on it.
When I get my hair cut and colored (every four weeks), and a pedicure I realize that I have become quite the high maintenance girl. I never intended for it to happen. It just takes *a little more* when you pass that 50 mark. Oh well. A girl has to do what a girl has to do.
You know the "small" bag that fits over the overhead compartment that MOST people use for their WHOLE packing needs ~ well, that is just what I have dubbed: "Beauty in a Bag," but have since re-named: "Maintenance in a Bag" ~ yes, it's very sad, the 'beauty' days are long gone, and it is now strictly maintenance. And now, I'm really ticked because the airlines are charging for my "Maintenance in a Bag."
I'm packing right now to go to the lake with no hair-do and makeup requirements, and yet ~ I still have tons of stuff.....velcro rollers, hot rollers, headbands, products, etc., etc. Can't leave home without it. sigh...., perhaps someday I'll be able to simplify.
Have a safe, great trip with a fruitful, smooth visit with the dentist.
Hey sweet lady! How long will you be in Nashville? I am only an hour away. I missed you last week when I was in Destin...We did make it to donut hole cafe. :) We had a good time but it was insanely crowded. We will not go on the 4th again. I hope you have a wonderful trip! xoxo Tabetha
I would never laugh (snicker, snicker) at such an obviously serious (giggle) topic... You sounds like you feel a lot better, you and George have a great trip!
Don't feel bad, us "over 50" crowd are all in the same boat. I have so many creams and potions, it isn't funny and everytime I go to the make-up counter my girl who works with me always has something new for me to try. I tend to overpack on clothes too. I never know for sure when I might want to wear another outfit or what if I get dirty! Better to be safe than sorry. Enjoy your trip to Nashville. I have never had the pleasure of going to Nashville, but I hear it is a neat place. Best of luck with your dental visit. Travel mercies for you and George! Love & blessings from NC!
Are you kidding me?? I am trying to figure out a way of asking my Gyno to take an inch of skin (and fat!) off of my tummy when she does my hysterectomy!
I know...it just takes more stuff to get the same look that used to come 'naturally'...or a least with very little product. But, that's OK...it's all about looking as good as we feel. Which is why I have on absolutely NO makeup today...but, soon!
I know just how you feel girl, everything but the kitchen sink goes in my suitcase....when it's too much, then I have to sort out what is REALLY important...have a great trip!
Oh, yes, indeedy! My "health and beauty" traveling bag is getting bigger and heavier the older I become! You would definitely not want to see me natural!
That is funny but so true! I don't use a lot of stuff, but I definitely need STUFF everyday. My husband claims to think it is ridiculous that I wear make-up every day and fix my hair and usually a little perfume....but if I didn't? I am thinking he would be missing all that stuff.
And so glad to see you are back home!!!! I have been a bit busy these last few days, and haven't been reading much and just read about your decision to go back to your old blog. I don't blame you one tiny bit! Welcome back!
I so agree...that natural look takes a lot to attain. And we must not forget the "upkeep appointments" as well as the potions and lotions. Almost a full-time job!
I guess you should know that I'm playing "catch up" on blog reading and although I'm not around much, please know I do come around to catch up.
Today's post just reminded me of the funniest line I saw recently...we are getting ready for a 14 day cruise (try packing for that)...anyway, I was reading someones cruise review and HE was talking about the space in the bathroom, or lack of, and said.... (this is what I also feel or share with him)...."IT TAKES A LOT OF PRODUCT TO LOOK THIS GOOD."
