Tonight we went to Garrett and Jeanette for their annual New Year's dinner. Oh My Goodness! So much food and every thing was absolutely delicious. Pork roast and gravy, bread dumplings (with more of the gravy), saurerkraut, collard greens, hoppin' john (black eyed peas, rice and bacon), applesauce, coleslaw, and a cucumber salad. Then for desert - fresh fruit and individual cheesecakes topped with chocolate sauce and fresh raspberries. (I can't believe I didn't take any photos!)
I want to get back on my usual "diet", but my Mom and aunt are coming on Saturday and when they are here we eat, then eat, then eat some more......
Help!
Happy New Year to all!
Hugs!

Kat,
Lovely pictures from your evening last night. It is turning bitterly cold here too and boy is the wing picking up.
Blessings to you my friend and I pray you have a wonderful year ahead.

Your meal sounds delicious. We had pork and sauerkraut and applesauce for Hank and me and I did a turkey and stuffing for Dom, Donna and Shelby. I'll never do that again! Way too much work and too much food!
I love the sunset picture in your header.
The holidays are just one big feeding frenzy.....
Happy New Year!
Fran

Happy 2008 blogging friend!
Smiles!
Like the beach shot as your header. I can't wait til it stays lighter later, I am not a big fan of walking in the dark.
I love all the get togethers over the holidays, unfortunately there is always soooooo much food.
Have a nice day
Yes - that is the downside of seeing family and friends...the FOOD!...or is that the upside??? I save all of my diet meals for the times I dine alone..saving the luxury foods for the fun. Don't worry - there is pleanty of time to diet later this month ..and when you get into the mood, you can come over to my blog - because I am on a serious diet with updates every Monday!
HI there Kat, sounds like you had a great New Years! You look great in the photos, you always do!
We had pork, kraut & mashed potatoes, a traditional meal in Dutch country..it was yummy.
Brrrrr, it is bitter cold up here & so windy too!
Happy New Year, DebraK
I saw on TV this morning that it was down to freezing temps on the Gulf coast. Wow! It's bitter up here in PA - windy and in the 20's all day. I hate it.
Yes, the food. Thankgoodness our celebrations are over. I was beginning to feel horrible by last evening. I'm back on the straight and narrow, ha, ha!
