THAT SCREAM YOU HEARD WAS ME!

Still having trouble with my internet.  So slow.  Screaming and pulling my hair out hasn't helped ;-(

Every time I think it's better, it proves me wrong.  Grrrrrr

IT WASN'T PLANNED, BUT WE STILL HAD FUN

I love nights like tonight...an impromptu dinner with friends....pizza, wine, brownies and strawberries...sitting on the balcony under the stars, listening to good music and the sound of the waves crashing against the shore. Nothing better!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 BTW...our trip to Nashville has been postponed ;-) Our son has a big project due and was stressed trying to get it finished in time. No need to add more stress, so we decided to wait and go in a few weeks.
 Just had to share these cute photos of Daven's first time in a baby pool. These were taken yesterday on Bree's birthday. She spent it with her girlfriends and all the babies had a ball.
 Here he is (right in the middle) with Izzy and the triplets (Kennedy, Markin and Eli).
Wish I could have been there!  I love all these babies and their Mommas too.
Happy weekend y'all!
A BUSY JULY
Gosh, I can't seem to get back my blogging "groove". All during the move and getting settled, I couldn't wait to get back to blogging. Two problems have stymied my plan. First, we seem to stay so darn busy and second, our internet is so blankety-blank sloooow. George is calling tomorrow to have someone come check things out. I sit down to blog sometimes and I get so frustrated that I walk away. Tonight it seems to be cooperating, so I thought I'd share some photos of what's been happening lately.
George went to Coopertown, NY to watch our grandson, Carson, play in a tournament.  That our son George on the left who coaches Carson's team.  George was gone 9 days...the longest we've been apart since we married.
One night a few of my neighbors dropped by for drinks.  The photos was taken with an iPad and turned out blurry, but hey we got a photo.
Another night, I had dinner with my sweet Facebook friend June and her daughter Allison and her husband Bill and they came back to our condo.  (Bill took the photo)  June is the sister of my sweet blog friend, Joan at Joan's Journeys.  I hope Joan will come next time.
We've had a little rain almost every afternoon, but it's still been a gorgeous July.  Plenty of sun.  I personally love watching a storm form over the water.
Miss Daisy loves being on the balcony!
George and I enjoy taking walks down to the jetties.  The water has been such a gorgeous color.
So excited!  We're heading to Nashville on Thursday to spend some time with these three and our son and daughter-in-love!!!!!!
Missing this little man!  Looking forward to seeing him in just a few weeks.  He's almost 10 months old now and beginning to be on the move.  Just look at those eyes!
Proud of myself for keeping up my exercise even though life is so busy.  This is my gym in a box.  LOL  I keep my weights, etc. in a box under the guest room bed.  Every day I turn on the TV, roll out my mat, turn on the over head fan and get to work.  George and I are also taking long walks on the beach and/or taking a long walk with Miss Daisy after dinner.  Feeling good.
Now....your turn.
What have you been up to?
Hi Everyone!
It's Miss Daisy. My Mama said lots of you have asked how I like my new house. I love it! I really do. I like being outside, but couldn't stay out too long at the old house because I always wanted to roll in the grass and go in and out of the bushes. Mom and Dad worried about things like snakes so they wouldn't let me stay out very much. Our new home has a wonderful balcony with a great view and no bushes :-). They let me stay out any time they are outside. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it.
BTW...my Daddy has been out of town for 9 whole days, so Mama and I have had lots of time together.  Daddy came home tonight so I told Mama I would take care of her blog so she can spend time with him.
Woof...this is fun!
THE BINOCULARS CLEARED UP THE MYSTERY
I looked out the window this morning and thought I saw a shark very near the shore. Then I noticed a few more. I ran to get my binoculars and was relieved to see that it was dolphins. We see dolphins often, but these were darker in color than usual.
I walk past this message on the sidewalk each morning when Miss Daisy and I take the "long and faster" walk.  Love it!  A great reminder.  I always think "Yes, he lives.  He lives in my heart.  And in my soul."
I wonder if the person who placed this message in the concrete had any idea that this message would touch so many people?
IT FINALLY HAPPENED!
There's lots of perks to blogging, don't you agree?  But a big one for me has been the friends I have made through blogging.  People I would never have met otherwise.
I've been lucky enough to meet quite a few and I can truthfully say that I have never been disappointed.  Every blogger I have met has been exactly how she has presented herself through her writing.
I was thrilled to meet another blog friend a few days ago.  It's someone I have wanted to meet for quite sometime.  She was vacationing two hours away, but took the time to meet me half way so we could have lunch together.
Teresa at Grammy Girlfriend and A Baby Changes Everything was exactly what I expected...and even more.  Prettier, sweeter and so  easy to talk to.  Although the day we met for lunch was UGLY....lots of rain and wind (welcome to the Sunshine State)...it didn't stop us from having a good time.  We talked and talked and talked some more.  We did a little shopping.  We needed more time ;-(  Our visit went by much too quickly.
I can't believe neither one of us pulled out our camera!  We were too busy talking, but still..... Grrrrr
Love you sweet Teresa!
YEP, IT'S JULY
Remember a few days ago when I mentioned how seaweed seems to like to come in July?
Well, it's here!
We've had afternoon showers almost every day, but our mornings have been beautiful.  Today we had a good old storm and it brought in the seaweed.
I took these photos tonight before sunset.  You can see "islands" of seaweed heading into the beach.  That's okay, it's nature's way of building up/strengthening the beach and it won't last.  At least it's not the slimy yucky kind.
I sure planned to post different photos tonight.  My Mom and Sherry arrived on Thursday and planned to spend a week.  We've been having lots of fun doing our usual....playing games, cooking, eating and enjoying wine...but I didn't take a single photo.  I thought we had plenty of time.  But...
Sherry got a call early this morning from the police letting her know her home security alarm was going off.  Her house was broken in....again!  So she and Mom had to quickly pack up and rush back.  I'm so disappointed they had to leave.  And even sadder because the thieves got away with her computer and two jewelry boxes.  Grrrrrr!
I'M A SOUTHERN GIRL FOR SURE
I love books.  All kinds of books.
During the summer, I love reading something fun and easy.
Have you read Anne George's southern sister mysteries?  I love the titles -
  1. Murder on A Girls' Night Out (1996)
  2. Murder on A Bad Hair Day (1996)
  3. Murder Runs in the Family (1997)
  4. Murder Makes Waves (1997)
  5. Murder Gets A Life (1998)
  6. Murder Shoots the Bull (1999)
  7. Murder Carries A Torch (2000)
  8. Murder Boogies with Elvis (2001)
Oh.my.word are they fun!  I first read them ten years or so ago and loved them.  I was so saddened when I learned that Anne George died and there would be no more adventures with Mouse and Sister.  They are silly books, but fun!  These books literally make me loud out loud.  I'm re-reading Murder Boogies With Elvis (it's the only one I could quickly find the other day when I was headed to the beach) and I can't wait to go back and re-read the others.
I laughed out loud yesterday when I read this:
"I brushed my teeth, combed my hair, and slapped on some lipstick, the minimum I figured I could get away with if I were hit by a truck on the way to Philip's house.  Every woman in the world knows you have to wear clean underwear in case you are hit by a truck, but lipstick may be a Southern thing.  You want to look pretty when the firemen unhinge your door with the jaws of life, and the paramedics rush you to the waiting helicopter for the trip to Carraway or University Hospital.  The condition of your underwear might be questionable by that time but, by damn, your lips would be Shimmering Coral, and there's something to be said for that."
This is so me!!!
I wear lipstick from the time I get dressed in the morning until I wash my face at night.
A girl has got to be ready for anything, right?
JULY HAS MADE A LIAR OUT OF ME
July has always been my least favorite month living on the beach. It's usually HOT...really HOT. And there's a good chance of seaweed. The water usually isn't the best.  And it's crowded...the roads, the restaurants, the beach.
But this year....July has made me eat my words!
Oh.my.word! Can you say beautiful?!
George and I keep saying to each other "Can you believe this?!"
Here's just a few photos (in no particular order) that I've taken on "our" beach in the last day or so.
This is EXACTLY why I love being JUSTABEACHKAT!
The Emerald Coast indeed!
We saw several of these beautiful blue herons on our walk down to the jetty tonight.
Have I told you lately how much I love living on the beach?!
I do!
