WHAT DO YOU THINK?
As I mentioned in my last post, I'd love to have a new easier hairstyle...one that isn't so "fixed". I ran across this photo. I think the haircut is cute. What do you think? Be honest. Do you think it's a good one for me? My hair appointment is on Saturday. By the way...do you know who that is? If you guessed Twiggy, you're right. Speaking of Twiggy, I'd sure love to know how she's remained "twig like" all her life! Warning! Whining ahead. This DAMN darn menopause is kicking my butt. I can not seem to take weight off like I used to. I'm always on the go. I play tennis 2-3 days a week, I ride my bike daily (30 miles in the last 2 days), I've doing yardwork, I go to the gym AND I'm watching what I eat. It's so frustrating! Sorry for the venting. I got off track...back to the question...should I try this haircut? I'm also thinking I might need/want more highlights or low lights??? It seems lately it's too much of one color...too golden? Gosh, it's hard to describe haircolor..... Anyhoo, I'd love your opinion.
Hugs and kisses,Kat

First of all, you look like you have GREAT hair!! It always looks nice. I know what you mean though about wanting something a little less *fixed* looking. I think Twiggy's haircut would look great on you! It's not *heavy* looking...very light and free looking....does that make sense? I love the idea of low lights. I try to do that on occasion too. It gives it a little bit of a different look. (maybe textured looking???) Anyway, go for it. After all, it's hair. It will grow back AND your blogging friends will still love you! Can't wait to see what you do!!!
I think it looks great...go for it. I've had the same problem with my "natural blonde" getting too golden lately. Last time I asked for some low-lights and those were too redish. *ugh*
By all means. That haircut would look incredible on you. Twiggy looks better in that photo than she did back in her Twiggy days. Can't wait to see your new do. ♥
Oh, and the mid-life, can't lose those few pounds, hungry all the time, problem: It's contagious!!!!!UGH!!!!!!
Love it. You would look so cute. (Of course you already do look cute!) Sorry about the menopause, I am not too far behind you. :(
Okay, here's what I think: Your hair in the picture of you & George (sidebar) & profile doesn't look all that different from Twiggy except that you have fuller and more hair~her hair is more "thinned". GO FOR IT!! It will look GREAT!! :)
Twiggy has certainly held up well. That is a cute haircut and I think it would be cute on you. I'm looking at the picture of you and George in the golf cart. I like your hair in that picture.
I know what you mean about that menopause stuff. It's terrible. And I've found the older I get the easier it is to put on weight and harder to take it off. A little more discipline than I have would help. No, a lot more would help. lol
Hugs,
Charlotte
Hi Kat, I'm all for trying new hairdos. I agree with Sally about your pic in the sidebar. Twiggy's hair looks thinner.
Embrace menopause...what else can I say...lol!
I like your hair in the picture of you and George. But for something easier and lighter, you could have it thinned out and shaped. The girl who did my hair was a wizard. She cut the shape into my hair so it looks full without being full - if that makes any sense. All I have to do is straighten the bangs - I don't even have to blow dry it.
And I think low-lights would look great - take away from the one-color look.
But you'll still look great whatever you do!
Go for it!! I think it will look really cute on you.
It would look awesome on you. You always look awesome anyway. I think you'd like low-lights. When I look back to my one-color hair pictures, I'm always glad I had the nerve to try something different.
I am printing out that picture~ I like it too! It looks easy.
Hi Kat, I think you'll enjoy low lites....gives it more dimension and texture, and looks more natural.
Personally speaking for me, and I have a feeling you might be similar ~ in my "ideal" world, I would love to have a current care-free, less "fixed" do....but it is hard break old habits. Any haircut you do get, though, can be as "fixed" or as "carefree" as you want.
Oh yeah, one more thing....my experience has been that a "photo" hairdo is really hard to replicate because everyone's hair is SO different...texture, way it lays, way it grows, way it curls or doesn't etc.
I haven't had a haircut I've liked since I've been in my 30's....sigh.
I just got finished growing out spiky layers (trying to be a little hip and younger, and it was OK), and now I am just boring one length and it has no style even though I use product and velcro rollers, etc., etc. And it is not my stylist ~ he is great! It's just me, and I think age limits you.
Don't mean to be a "downer." I think you will find a fabulous "do"....just keep thinking, trying and exploring.
Like the other gal said, it does grow back and there are options: headbands, different parts, etc., etc.
Hope that helps.
I love when there is variation of color. It seems sometimes I get too blonde and need to have the low lights, too! I like that style. You are so gorgeous, any haircut would work for you! Don't be so hard on yourself!
Love,
Angie xoxo
Cute haircut...very much like the one you have already, just looks like hers is thinner and the bangs more spikey-er (can't spell) and maybe more blonde. It would not be a radical change so if you didn't like it, you wouldn't have to live with it very long.
I go to two beauticians: one for my color/highlights and the other for the cut. I get so many compliments on the cut that I've taken to handing out cards of the girl that cuts it! My hair is very thick and has quite a bit of body so I live and die by a Chi flat iron.
Whatever you do will look good on you. Let us know how it turns out!

Alcohol = weight gain.
I love that cut and I think it looks like "you"! Yiou would be adorable with it, although you already are and I think you are pretty "twig" like too!
I love it, and I think it's very stylish and 'sassy'...that's a good thing! I have been trying to let mine grow out a little, but I called her today and said "if you don't cut it today or tomorrow...I am!" She's cutting it tomorrow!
I can not lose weight! My butt has gotten so big and my belly is bigger. I am a mess! I try and try...but I get so hungry! Oh, well...that's life, I guess!
Go for the haircut!
ah as if I'd know...kept thinking she looked like some English lady...HA! That's about as good as it got for me.
That is a really cute haircut. Not too different from what you already have. I'm thinking greater highlights and some low lights for depth. BUT that might mean more upkeep as well. Your facial structure could hold the cut well.
My sister turned to a Chinese doctor after not being able to shed lbs and she dropped 40 lbs in 6 mos. And she has been taking long dog walks to the beach. My dad has lost almost 60 lbs...same thing.
okay...I have a daughter who is blone and a great hairdresser. My sweet hairdresser(really the best around the south) says only a BLONDE can do another blonde's hair. Kat....she is in Pensacola and she is the best. She comes to Montgomery, AL once a month and has a waiting list. Let me know if you want more details. I have been one of those peeps lurking on your site for a year. I check your blog every day.
I think it looks young and very chic. I think you have the right hair and face shape for it.Also wont be as hot.
Absolutely, go for it! I think low lights would look great as well.
Good luck!
Hi Kat
I've been reading you forever and have never commented. I think the new haircut would look great on you. I am also in the middle of menopause. I'm 47 - I started menopause at 44 and I totally know what you are going through. I've never had a problem losing weight and the hot flashes - Oh my gosh! Anyway love your blog and pictures.

I think the hair cut would be so hot on you. It is totally adorable. The menopause sucks with a capital S. I'm going through all the same feelings. I'm working out like a maniac and not seeing the results I use to. Getting older totally sucks!!! But, the haircut is so you. Can't wait to see the new pictures of your new do. I'm also looking for a new cut. Any ideas?
I change my hair color all the time. I love to mix it up. I wear the same style because I have lots of thick wavy hair that I usually flat iron. I highlight in the winter. I really like the look you are going for and think it would go well with the shape of your face but it all depends upon your hair being thick or thin etc. I had my hair cut on Tuesday and went right home and jumped on the scale to see if I had lost weight but obviously hair has no weight:) Just my luck!

You could definitely do the Twiggy Doo!! Go lighter on top and low lights on the bottom. Oh my I can picture it now. I think it will be so much fun!! And, by the way, you always look fantastic!!
I love that hair style! It is so cute yet elegant!

I love that hairstyle and I think it would look great on you!
Also, you look great. I know how hard it is to lose weight but you are more active than anyone I know and you have to be in excellent shape to play tennis and ride bikes etc... and again, you look great!
Have a great weekend!
Hugs,
Patty
I like the haircut style and say go for it. The good thing about hair is that it will always grow back AND this gives you enough time before the wedding for experiments.
As for weight gain/menopause? Amen, sister, is all I have to say. I'm right there with you.
I like the hairstyle. I think you should go for it. As for the weight gain/menopause I'm there with you. Hugs, Linda from Ca.
Wow - would you look at all your comments!? Sounds like the overall concensus is to go for a change and keep working with your hairdresser if it's not quite what you're after. I will be watching for the photos!! I get mine done next week and am ready for a spring change as well. =)
I think it would look really good on you too!! You have a deeper chin than Twiggy - but still very close to the same face shape. I can't wait to see the new you!
YES, GO FOR IT!!!!
I know it will look great.
What's to lose? If you don't like it, your hair will be back to the length and style you currently have in no time. (I may join you on this haircut - seriously!)
I remember TWIGGY when I was about 20. A real fashion trendsetter! I hadn't seen a picture of her in decades. She still looks good.
Also, "Been there and Done that" with menopause. Old Age AIN'T for Sissies...Remember that and you can do anything!

PS: I'll be waiting to see a picture of your new "do"... :)
I wouldn't do anything too strastic with the wedding coming up. Just a thought.
Are you kidding me?!!! You'd look fabulous with that cut!! Go for it!!!!!
I think you would look FAB with that hairdo... GO FOR IT!!!
ENJOY your weekend!

ABSOLUTELY adorable. PLEASE send us an after pic. I think we all think a new do is fun! It can brighten your mood, so change up the color, get a cut, and a massage while your there. Smile and go out with George Sat. night.
I like the style with you two in the golf cart, but different is so fun! Go for it!
I think that the haircut suits you! You'll have to put pictures up after your appointment so we can see what you decide! :)
Hair cut is cute, Kat! Go for it!
I think I got the Live Writer to work...it was because of my Picasa album being full...I think!
Hugs!
I think this is a great time of the year to try a new "do." Go for it! As far as the menopause thing...I can't tell you how many times I said to myself (before menopause) "I will NEVER let that (weight gain) happen to me!" Well, I'm trying my best and the darn weight seems to creep up on me....especially during the night when I can't fight back...couldn't possibly have anything to do with the pasta could it? It's discouraging I know, but I get cranky if I deprive myself. I'm striving for a happy medium. Good luck!
When you asked for help..you got it. I say go for it. Your hair will grow and it's summer so it will be easy. I cut my hair about 4 weeks ago and am getting used to just blow drying and go. I am trying not to use so much hairspray :)!!! Anyway...I got the A-line cut where it's longer on the sides and short in the back. It still looks long from the front. Like I said...I like it for a change just still getting used to it. Just do it! Connie
That cut would look adorable on you! I love your hair the way it is now, but I know you are wanting a change. As someone earlier stated, it is only hair and it will grow back if you don't like it. I am always willing to make a change. As for menopause, it stinks. I am still having hot flashes too. Not fun!! Have a great weekend. Love & blessings from NC!
