I'M GOING AND GOING AND GOING

Just like the Energizer Bunny, I keep going and going and going! Amazing! Where did all this energy come from?! Can it be all the cake, cookies, candies, etc. I've been consuming! Maybe it's just one big gigantic sugar high. Whatever it is, I'm not complaining. I'm getting lots done.

After tennis this morning, I came home and cleaned out the refrigerator. I divided up what was left of the Honey Baked Ham and put it and the ham bone in the freezer for later use. Some slices of that will be r-e-a-l-l-y good on some biscuits when my Mom and Aunt come the first week of January. Oh yes ma'am! I also wrapped up the rest of that yummy Chocolate Chip Cake I made and put it in the freezer too. Then I cut up the rest of the turkey so we could have open face turkey sandwiches slathered in the leftover turkey gravy for lunch. George was in hog heaven... or should I say turkey heaven? Either way, he was in heaven. Then I made a pot of turkey soup for dinner. His all time favorite thing about the Holidays. He wants turkey for Thanksgiving AND Christmas, just so he can have some turkey soup afterwards. I add celery, carrots, rice and pasta to my turkey soup. Yum! I did alot of things around the house too. Organizing. This girl is moving! :-)

Speaking of the Energizer Bunny...look at this cute cartoon I found:

I heard about Good Riddance Day on Good Morning America this morning. Sounds like a good plan, especially since I'm in the mood to organize, etc. As I'm organizing in the garage and some closets, I mentioned to George I need to get rid of some "stuff". He loves it when I talk like that. He said "Good. You pile it up and I'll make the trips to Goodwill." See...we work well together :-)

"In the spirit of starting anew, a business group and the city's sanitation department are inviting New Yorkers to shred their bad memories of 2007. Everything from photos of ex-lovers to lousy report cards will be fair game when the Times Square Alliance and the New York Department of Sanitation set up shredders in the Times Square Visitors Center for an hour on Dec. 28."

Go here to read more about it.

Sometimes I just have to laugh at myself! I guess since I've been so busy today (and also since it gets dark so darn early), I set the table and dished up our soup and called George in to eat. Bless his heart, he didn't say a thing. I looked up at the clock at some point and it was only 5:05. It seemed like it was at least 6:30!

I bet we'll need a late night snack....

Hugs!

Hi, Kat, you sound like I want to be! I've got a lot of energy in my head, but it hasn't kicked in yet to my body. We've been going & going all week & just got back from Atl. today. I'm putting all the Christmas stuff away this weekend & then maybe some of that energy will kick in for me too! You go girl! I know exactly what you mean about this time of year & getting organized. Why does that always happen!?

Happy New Year!
Rhoda

No sooner than I left a comment on your post about hitting the floor running (and I was too) I lost my energy. Think it was too much sugar and instead of keeping it up I thought I'd better stop before gaining anymore weight in 2007 and crashed big time into a sugar coma. I'm alert and blog surfing but everything else (organizing, cooking, etc.) came to a screeching halt! Off to bed soon and hope that the energizer bunny is with me in the morning!hehehe.

Enjoy the last weekend in 2007 and have an OVER THE TOP 2008!!!

Blessings,
Sandy :)

Could you send that bunny over here? I have never been so slow after Christmas as I have this year. My house is still covered in schrapnel from all the gifts and the baking and having the kids on break from school.

I so want to get moving! Thanks for the inspiration!

When all that energy hits me, I have to go with it like a mad woman because I know that it will go just as fast as it came. And when it's over....it's over!

After seeing the energizer bunny cartoon, I am wondering if someone may have scared me......

Kathy, found your blog off of the bower birds and really enjoyed visiting your blog today full of sunshine and happiness from your part of the world. The blog banner is a fun way of celebrating the new year.

As I look at all of my Christmas decor still on display in our home, I too think it's time to rid our home of some "stuff". Guess I'd better get to work since I missed Boxing Day!

Go Kat! Where can I find some of that energy? Most of my decorations are put away... still have a little left to do. You are inspiring as always!
Happy New Year, DebraK

Wow! Good for you!
But can you just send an ounce of your energy my way? Yesterday I laid around like an old cat all day...I did feel better today and actually worked out! :D But still, not enough to accomplish all you're doing...Christmas and all the preparations seem to zap me for a few days!

Your turkey soup sounds wonderful. And your hubby sounds like mine when it comes to getting rid of stuff...he would have said the exact same thing! :)

Wow- you go girl! I have come down with a little bug, and took Adam to Urgent Care this morning after he had a restless night crying, coughing and running a temp. What's the holidays without the kids getting sick, huh? My husband actually mentioned making a Goodwill run today, too. I always clean-out and organize during my week off from work. Enjoy that soup!
