My shopping trip to Pensacola didn't happen today. We woke up early this morning to no power...until almost 9:30! That means no coffee until 9:30. (Scary!) No lights. No computer. It's impossible to put on makeup and dry hair with no power, so I just sat by a window and read a magazine. Linda and I finally made the decision to wait for another day when we could get an early start. Instead, we decided to meet for lunch and do some shopping around town. And shop we did. For HOURS.
And I'm shopped out.
So tomorrow (weather permitting) I'm playing tennis and then I'm spending the rest of the day at home. Home. Awwww...that sounds so nice to me. Maybe, just maybe, I'll address some Christmas cards. And get to do some blog reading. And a nap...that definitely sounds like something I need to add to my "to do" list.
I have only 3 gifts left to buy. Just 3 little gifts. But not tomorrow.

I love Christmas cards and always read the previous years as I am decorating.....
I hate to admit, I have done of it ;0!
Sorry about your power, but at least you didn't have to worry too much about being cold. It is pouring down rain here now, so that will be good for sleeping tonight! Love your gift tags you made out of your old cards. I love to do things like that with mine too. They are too nice to throw away. I love days at home when I don't have to go anywhere. I love enjoying all my Christmas decorations, especially the tree and the lights. Enjoy your day at home!! Love & blessings from NC!
Was J pretty close on the down time on the electricity?
I wondered how long it was out.
I have a little bit more shopping to do, but now they are calling for rain and maybe some snow! The weekend looks good.
I save my cards, too...love to see how friends' children grow up through the years in their pictures. I hope you were wearing your tennis shoes while shopping ... that might be better for that kind of marathon shopping days. I love what you did with your cards by making the tags.
Please do rest tomorrow! I feel pooped just reading about your adventures!
I saved my cards from last year in hopes I'd come up with a way to use them, they were all just too beautiful to pitch. Thanks for the idea of using them as gift tags!
I take old CHRISTmas cards and cut them apart for my kids @church to make cards for the sick and shut-ins. I use scrapbooking scisssors. They have so much fun making them...m.
I love cards too and look through mine again after Christmas also. For about 10 years I made an album of all the photo cards and that's a fun one to look back at and see the kids growing up.
I love your gift tag idea!!! Have a nice day tomorrow!
Love ya, Connie
Oh Kat, a day shopping with you and Linda sounds like fun.
I haven't even thought about Christmas cards this year... maybe New Years cards instead!
Christmas cards are one of my favorite things! I will throw away last year's this week....Love your idea of making tags out of them. My fav ones have a family photo on the front!
The weather was ugly here all day, too. But, we had power.
As to getting everything done...I'm trying!!!
Rest up, woman, you're making me tired. lol
Have a Happy Day!
Morning Kat.....I LUV your Christmas tag idea, copyKat coming into view! LOL
I only lack a couple of small gifts and am getting ready to spend my morning wrapping, hopefully, I will be finished today!!! House is decorated and I just put the last Christmas cards in the mail! I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I've bee off work for the past 18 days and have sooooo enjoyed it! I'm flying one last three day trip with my neice starting Friday and that's it for the year. I don't like flying around the holiday's.....there are some crazies out there!!!! YIKES!!!
Have a GREAT tennis game and take time for that nap!!!
((HUG)) to you, George and Miss Daisy!
You're doing so good! I'm just baking cookies for everyone so I have a little time before I have to start worrying!
I am not even close to being done, plus we have sweet little Adam's birthday (he's going to be 4!!!) on 12/16 so I have those gifts in the mix, too. I really prefer "in person" shopping as opposed to online and my time to shop is limited. It always seems to get done, though.
Kat can you do a post on some suggestions for filling a stocking. This would be for adults. What do you do for a 50ish couple? You seem to be an expert on filling stockings. These would be guests for their first Xmas in America from England. Does not have to be expensive or big ticket items but I just want them to have "stuff" to open on xmas morning. On the other hand not just useless things. Some have suggested Postcards of my city, Box of truffles or handmade candies made in US by local confectioners. Can you suggest fun ideas you have done?
