I BELIEVE

.....in the power of prayer.

Do YOU?

I have a sweet friend who recently had an abnormal reading when she had her mammogram.  She has seen a specialist and is scheduled for a biopsy this coming Thursday.  She has asked for my prayers. She knows I'm a cancer survivor and a believer and she knows that I have many prayer warriors who read my blogs so she asked me to ask for your prayers too.

HOME

I'm back home.  After 8 hours in the car, I'm looking forward to my bed and my pillow.

No matter where you go...or who you see...or how much fun you have...

it's always good to be HOME :-)

DARN EYE PROBLEMS

Well pooh!  I spoke too soon.

I thought my eye problems were over, but once I stopped the medication (when I was supposed to) my "issues" are back.  Very red, itchy, watery yet dry feeling eyes.  Can't wear my contacts.  Again.  Darn!  So instead of leaving for Nashville this morning, I had to call and get an appointment with my eye doctor and the first appointment available is at 4:30 this afternoon.  Nothing is ever easy!

I'm bummed over the eye problem, but even more bummed since I thought I was going to be at our son's house tonight.  I can't wait to see the grandchildren.

I was also looking forward to the road trip and getting to see the leaves changing.

Maybe in a few days.......  sigh

SATURDAY THIS AND THAT

Saw this cute photo tonight and it made me smile.

Speaking of glasses......
I've had an eye infection and haven't been able to wear my contacts. Grrrrrr!

Thank goodness, it only took a $10.00 bottle of eye drops and a few days to clear things up.  It's  wonderful to be able to wear my contacts again.

Guess who turned one month old today?  Sure do miss him!

A SAD FACT

I have to drive 4 hours just to hug my Mama's neck ;-(

But it's definitely worth the drive!

Tonight I'll get to have dinner with my sisters and my Mom.  It's gonna be fun and we'll be busy making plans for Mom's annual Christmas party.

 Can't wait to see everyone!

HANGING OUT

It's Friday night and I was hoping we would be hanging out with friends.  Instead I'm hanging out with my iPad and my pillow.  A yucky head cold has got me down.  I hate to complain much though because I prayed that I would not be sick when Daven decided to come and I wasn't.  Thank you God.  If I've got to be sick, I'm glad it's this week and that I'm home.  I'm being a good girl and taking it nice and easy :)

What's YOUR exciting plans for the weekend?

IT'S OCTOBER SOOOOOO

Can you believe it...I haven't been on everyone's case about getting a mammogram in quite some time :-) And October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month after all.

Having a new grandson has kept me from thinking about anything but HIM! LOL

Awwww...what a sweetie pie.

looking very alert after his bath

BUT...
Be sure to get your mammograms girls.  Mine literally saved my life :-)

Here's a little joke for you......

What did the ghost say to the bees?

Easy, right?
Get it?  Boo bees

Don't forget to get your "boo bees" checked.
Soon, okay?

A BEACH AND SOUP KIND OF DAY

Gosh, I'm loving our weather.  Cool crisp air in the mornings, warm throughout the day and then the coolness returns in time for dinner and then some good snuggling under the covers.  LOVE IT!

The weather also makes me want to get out and get some exercise, which is great since I didn't do anything for the last two weeks except love on Daven ;-)

Today I got in a good walk AND a bike ride over to the beach.  Wow, what a beautiful day!  Absolutely gorgeous, even though the purple flag was flying since there were jellyfish in the water today.

After a day of exercise...and when the evening starts getting a bit chilly...a hot bowl of soup hits the spot.  Know what I mean?

So I made a pot of chicken noodle soup using a recipe that my son-in-love Jay has made for us.  It's easy and oh.so.good!

And it tasted even better in my new soup mug Bree gave me.

Love the message!  wink wink
CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP

chicken breast (approx. 3 cups of meat)
1 teaspoon vegetable oil
12 cups Progresso low sodium chicken broth (in cartons)
3 chicken flavored bouillon cubes
1 bunch celery, chopped
1 large onion, chopped
2 or 3 tablespoons of cornstarch
1/4 cup water
3 cups wide egg noodles

In a large saucepan or Dutch oven, combine broth, oil, chicken, and bouillon cubes. Cook under chicken is done. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water together until cornstarch is completely dissolved. Gradually add to soup, stirring constantly. Stir in onions, reduce heat, cover, and simmer 15 minutes.  Stir in the celery and uncooked noodles and cook for another 8 minutes.  (I don't use any salt, but I like to add plenty of black pepper.)

Enjoy!

This recipe makes about 12 servings
147 calories per serving and only 3.6 grams of fat

Sure wish my Mama was here to make me some of her cornbread to go with mine ;-(

HOME

I'm back home in the sunshine state ;-)

I'm sure you know how I'm feeling....glad to be home, but missing our girl and new grandbaby.

It sure was nice to be back in church today.

This afternoon our Realtor held an Open House so we had to take Miss Daisy and find something to do for 4 hours.  We headed to the HarborWalk.  What a gorgeous October day

Later we came back to the house and got the golf cart and took Miss Daisy for a ride. She's our "go go girl" and is ALWAYS ready for a ride ;-)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I sure do miss our "little bird".  Here's a few more photos taken before I left.
