LISTENING TO THE RHYTHM OF THE FALLING RAIN

It was raining when I went to bed last night and it was pouring cats and dogs when I woke up this morning.  It's still raining.  We are having a real "gullywasher" of  rain.  I love it!  My grass and flowers are loving it too.
Miss Daisy.......not so much!

Remember playing in the rain when you were a child?  I do.  Sometimes, I want to do it now ;-)
Don't you just love to sleep/nap when it rains?!  I do.  Hmmmm...maybe a nap later today.

The Open House that was planned for today has been cancelled until tomorrow afternoon.  I'm kinda glad.  I'm planning to get busy cleaning/de-cluttering/organizing in the garage right after I do my treadmill walk.  I figure it's a good time to do it since the rain will keep it cooler.

Here's the chicken pot pie I baked yesterday to take to a friend last night who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.  She started chemo yesterday.  She turned 40 on Thursday and guess what she did on her birthday?  She, with the help of her two children (8 and 10) and her husband, shaved her head.  She said SHE was in control, not the cancer.  How powerful is that?!  Gives me chills to even type that.

I heard last night of the death of one of our neighbors.  He was sitting on a patio chair and just died.  So sad....but also... what a way to go!  Know what I mean?

A friend's second grandchild was born yesterday and he is adorable.

Sadness and bravery and happiness are all around us.

Life is ever changing.
Life is a gift.
Don't waste a second.
Live it!
Enjoy it!
Be thankful for it!

Hugs from the beach,
Kat

Great pictures! I love a good rainy day too, and it does make for good sleeping weather. Your friend sounds like an amazing woman.
Your neighbor went in a way most of us would choose, and the new baby is a reminder that life does go on.
Enjoy your rainy day!

We could use a little rain here in NC! We have had a couple of days that stayed in the 80s....which was so nice after a few days in the 100s!

Glad you sold a property! REJOICE!

Please send some of that rain a little further south. We need it badly again.

I'm so sorry about your friend, but what an inspirational individual, God Bless her. My cousin was a breast cancer survivor for almost 5 years. A few months ago she found a large lump at the base of her neck, went to the doctor, found out she has Lymphoma. Lumps in her neck, back, legs, and chest. So, during one of their local cancer walks, she, along with other woman had their heads shaved...her husband who is actually my blood cousin, shaved his as well...the shocker is, he had a long ponytail for as many years as I could remember. Very neat and clean, but nonetheless, it was long. It made me cry when I saw the love he had for his little bride of 34 years. The good news is, treatment is working all but one tumor is gone, and they aren't sure why, could just be the location and the scans are picking up something else, but she is a believer that she is in control and as she said "going to kick the H*** out of it again, and she is. God makes miracles happen every day. Faith and Love are more powerful than any cancer.

God Bless...

What a SERMON in this post today!

Miracles and work and good thoughts and rain and childhood and hope and heroes and why on Earth can't you go PLAY IN THE RAIN, Hon?

We do it all the time.

This was WONDERFUL.

Happy Weekend!

Life is so hard sometimes, but you and your friends have such wonderful attitudes!

Still raining here, although slowed down a bit, but the party's still on. :)

God bless!

I still love to go for a walk in the rain and so I do it often.
What a brave thing for your friend to do. I'm sure she is most appreciative of a good friend like you to support her through this ordeal :-)
Good luck with the open house

Your blog carried a powerful message of living each day and taking nothing for granted!
We too have had some good rain the last week. Our grass is loving it and I love not having to water the flowers every night!
Hugs!

We should all take to heart this "message" of life you shared today...sometimes we get so busy, we can not even enjoy the rain! Shame on us!

And, the world keeps turning and life keeps on happening! As it will until we go HOME!

It has been raining quite a bit here, too. We are loving it~ Except, of course we hd some yard work being done and now there is a tractor in the backyard and huge muddy puddles all around. Finn loves it however!

Have a great week! Hope Bree was well when she visited!

There is nothing I like better than to curl up with a book on a rainy day ~ but we are on our 16th or 17th day of 100 or over temps and no rain in sight!!!

Your chicken pie was a beauty, and I'll bet your friend finds you a great encouragement to her in many ways.

Life IS a gift ~ and I am delighted with every day I get to wake up and enjoy!!!

Have a great day Kat ~ and good luck on your decluttering. And, congrats on your condo sale too!
