Bree with Hershey, her first "little boy"

I had the best time.  I was sad to leave this morning, but I'm looking forward to going back in three weeks for a baby shower.

LOTS OF...

eating
planning
laughing till we cried
shopping
decorating
talking

...with my girl and I loved every second!

Even the HEAVY rain this afternoon didn't keep us from having fun!

I took some photos of Bree with her cute "baby bump" this morning and will get them downloaded when I get home tomorrow. I sure hate leaving, but I'm excited that we are coming back in a few weeks for a couples baby shower.

MY SWEET DAVEN

I'm so glad I was able to go with Bree and Jay for the ultrasound this morning. It's a THRILL to get to see sweet Daven again (this is the second ultrasound I've gone to). Bree is in her 28th week. It's so exciting to get to see our little guy. Well, actually maybe I should say BIG guy. They estimate he weighs 3.1 pounds right now! Here's a photo they took this morning. Daven was lying on his side and you can clearly see one of his eyes and it's OPEN!

Bree and I had fun doing some (more) shopping this afternoon for the nursery. Tonight Jay's Mom came over and we moved the nursery furniture around and around and around some more until we found the best floor plan. It's really looking good. Photos later. Can you believe my camera battery died on me after taking only one photo?

Color Me Happy though 'cause I'm here with my girl !!!

Kat

OFF TO SEE OUR BIRTHDAY GIRL

The car is loaded.  And when I say loaded, I mean LOADED!  I'm going to spend a few days with our girl!  Our birthday girl, I should say.  I can't believe Bree turns 30 today!  Time truly does fly!  And now my baby is having a baby.  I can't wait to see Daven in October.

Happy Birthday Bree!  I love you sweet girl!

WHO NEEDS A SAUNA?

Not me!

Lordy mercy, it's HOT!  Especially in my garage...and that's where I'm spending HOURS every chance I get.  I'm going through everything and getting it organized and de-cluttered.  STILL at it, you ask?  Yep!  And all by myself, for the most part because if George had a say in it, EVERYTHING would be tossed.  LOL  He's doing his part though by taking things to Goodwill or the dump or picking up more boxes, etc.  I'm going through every.single.box.  It's a slow process, but necessary.  I keep an oscillating fan blowing right on me and that helps a little, but I'm still a red-faced sweaty dirty very tired girl when I finally decide to stop for the day.

I'm pretty sure your weekend was better than mine.  Do tell....

PATIENTLY WAITING

 I am not a good wait-er.

There......I said it.

Seriously, I'm the type that once I make up my mind to do something, I want to do it.  Not talk about it.  Do it.  And certainly, not talk about it and worry about it and wait for it.

This whole business with selling our home and moving normally would stress me out.  Big time.  And it did for a few weeks.  Not anymore.  I turned it over to God.  I told Him I would wait for His timing.  And while I'm waiting (patiently, I might add), I'm doing my part to make the move easier when the time is right.  I'm also praying for the family who will buy our home.  And you know what?  It's been easier than I thought it would be.

Something good is going to happen.

For sure.  I just know it.

JUST SO YOU KNOW

Happy Friday everyone!

I've had a few questions asked either through comments or emails, so I thought I'd answer them here.

Any time I post photos of Miss Daisy, someone always asks about the hair in her eyes.  LOL
(This is NOT Miss Daisy...just a photo off the internet)
Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers usually have even longer hair in their face than what Miss Daisy has.  We ask our groomer to do a "puppy cut" on her because it's the look WE like.  We bought Miss Daisy from a breeder in Ohio who shows Soft Coated Wheatens and Miss Daisy was trained to be a "show dog" for the first year of her life.  Even today (she is 5 years old), she doesn't like it when we brush the hair out of her eyes.  She takes her paws and pushes the hair right back down.  LOL

BTW...she is absolutely the best dog we have ever had.  Wheatens are known to be the "Peter Pan" of dogs......puppy playful all their life.  I can't imagine life without her.  We love her.  She's our girl!

The popsicle I mentioned in my last post is this one.   Only 15 calories each and so yummy.  They do have artificial sweetener though, but I feel that's okay in moderation.

Any more questions?

I hope YOUR weekend is good!

TRYING TO KEEP MY COOL

I love popsicles!  Do you?

It's so darn HOT, so they make a really COOL treat.

I found some tropical ones today that are sugarfree and only 15 calories for a single pop.  Yummy too!

I'm still playing tennis.  Crazy, right?  I love it and I'm thankful I can play year round.

This morning I got lightheaded and a bit nauseous in the third set, so I stopped early.  No sense in risking a heat stroke.

Once I came home and cooled off and had lunch, I was just fine.  Ready to do my treadmill walk and then get busy in the garage.  I have a nice oscillating fan blowing on me while I work.  Gosh, this project is taking f-o-r-e-v-e-r, but I'm literally going through every single box.  A little bit each day.......

Hope you're staying cool.

OH, MISS DAISY

After my tennis this morning I had to RUSH home and shower since we had another open house today which began at noon.   That meant another 4 hours out of the house ;-(

Since George was playing golf, Miss Daisy and I went out for a ride and a long leisurely lunch.

Guess who wanted some fried shrimp, french fries, hush-puppies and coleslaw?  Besides me, I mean.
Who can say no to that sweet face?!  Not me.

I took my iPad and did a little blogging too ;-)

"We" ate at this cute little place right on the harbor.
I couldn't go inside since Miss Daisy was with me, but it was wonderful sitting outside in this pretty courtyard.  And even though the day was HOT HOT HOT, it was very pleasant sitting in the shade under an umbrella and......
some gorgeous big trees
I got to do some people watching ;-)
On the way home, we checked out the crowds on the beach.  The water looked okay, but I've heard we've had some seaweed.  That's pretty typical in July because it's so darn HOT.   Lots of slow traffic too.

I managed to get a little bit more accomplished in the garage before dinner.  It's a slow process, but I'm taking my time and it's looking good.

STUFF

So........

A few weeks ago I was in a funk. What a waste of time!  Remind me not to do THAT again.  Now, I'm energized and having fun being busy, busy, busy. And I'm feeling so good about all I'm getting accomplished.

In between my normal activities of tennis, treadmill, church, Lunch Bunch, laundry, parties, yard work, etc. I've been organizing, cleaning and de-cluttering our garage.   Whew, what a job!  And I'm not finished yet...not even close.  But I'm plugging away and loving the results.

Remember back in 2007 when I organized the garage? This photo was taken when we first got the shelving and plastic storage tubs.  I can't find an "after" photo tonight, but we filled up every tub and even added more shelving and tubs to the center section.  Every tub was labeled too.

I'm a organized horder ;-)

Well, over time things get added, but nothing ever seems to leave. Kinda like my clothes closet ;-) The whole time I'm cleaning and clearing the garage I'm thinking "Lordy, why in the world did I save most of this junk STUFF?"

George loves to get rid of stuff.   I, on the other hand, tend to hold on to stuff. Just in case of.....blah blah blah. Crazy, right?  Here's just ONE example - who needs 150+ gift bags in various sizes and enough tissue paper for all 150+ bags with lots left over?  Nobody.  But every time I get a gift, I save the bag.  For years.  They just stack up.  Just in case.  Then, when I actually buy a gift, I usually get it gift wrapped or purchase another gift bag (and a new package of tissue paper) because I can't remember if I have the right size, color, theme, etc.  Nuts!

Well, not any more. That's one of the reasons we are moving to something smaller. And that's why I'm de-cluttering my entire house inside and out.

We want less to have to deal with.
Less to take care of.
Less to clean.
Less to worry about.

Sometimes less is more!

Because LESS can mean MORE time to enjoy life.
And that's a good thing!

It's a wonderful cleansing feeling to get rid of extra STUFF.

I'm making George happy.

And me too.

HAVE YOU SEEN HER?

My magic fairy.

What? You don't have one?

Really?

Sadly, I don't have one either.

But if I did.......

boy could I keep her busy!

LISTENING TO THE RHYTHM OF THE FALLING RAIN

It was raining when I went to bed last night and it was pouring cats and dogs when I woke up this morning.  It's still raining.  We are having a real "gullywasher" of  rain.  I love it!  My grass and flowers are loving it too.
Miss Daisy.......not so much!

Remember playing in the rain when you were a child?  I do.  Sometimes, I want to do it now ;-)
Don't you just love to sleep/nap when it rains?!  I do.  Hmmmm...maybe a nap later today.

The Open House that was planned for today has been cancelled until tomorrow afternoon.  I'm kinda glad.  I'm planning to get busy cleaning/de-cluttering/organizing in the garage right after I do my treadmill walk.  I figure it's a good time to do it since the rain will keep it cooler.

Here's the chicken pot pie I baked yesterday to take to a friend last night who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.  She started chemo yesterday.  She turned 40 on Thursday and guess what she did on her birthday?  She, with the help of her two children (8 and 10) and her husband, shaved her head.  She said SHE was in control, not the cancer.  How powerful is that?!  Gives me chills to even type that.

I heard last night of the death of one of our neighbors.  He was sitting on a patio chair and just died.  So sad....but also... what a way to go!  Know what I mean?

A friend's second grandchild was born yesterday and he is adorable.

Sadness and bravery and happiness are all around us.

Life is ever changing.
Life is a gift.
Don't waste a second.
Live it!
Enjoy it!
Be thankful for it!

WHAT'S UP BUTTERCUP?

Sooooo..........

What's your plans for the weekend?

Me?

Today - walking on the treadmill, going to the closing for a condo we sold (yea!), making a chicken pot pie and brownies to take to a friend recently diagnosed with breast cancer and then date night with my hubby.

Saturday - our Realtor is having another Open House in our home, so we'll have to find something to do for 3 hours which isn't easy in this heat with Miss Daisy and then I'm hoping to work on de-cluttering/reorganizing our garage. Not fun, but necessary since we're hoping the house sells soon.

Sunday - church and lunch out. More de-cluttering/reorganizing and hopefully a long bike ride.

Life is good!   Let's enjoy every second and be thankful!

HAPPY WEEKEND Y'ALL!

THE PARTY'S OVER AND THAT'S A GOOD THING

Yea! Kat's "Pity Party" is over!

And it's strange.  Just like not knowing why I felt "off", I now don't know why I feel so "on".

BUT.....I'm ME again and it feels good.

Very good!
Now I want to have a PARTY! LOL
