FIRST DAY HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL

In Daddy's hands.

It's been an exciting day. Little Master Daven got to go home from the hospital.

What a sweetie pie!

I got to do the first shift tonight since I'm a bit of a night owl. I wanted Bree and Jay to get some rest, so Daven and I are chilling out until he needs to nurse around 1:15 AM.

I'm so blessed that Bree and Jay are letting me be a part of these sweet first days.

OUR SWEET DAVEN

Daven decided he couldn't wait until next Tuesday, the 11th. We got the call at 2:30 AM yesterday morning that Bree's water had broken, so we scrambled around and loaded the car. Remember the scene in the movie HOME ALONE where everyone was rushing since they over slept and was needing to get to the airport? That's how we looked. You can only imagine how frantic we were. It's a 6 hour trip and we knew we weren't going to make it since Bree would have to have a c-section since he was breech. Oh, how I wanted to be there! Thank goodness MTee, Jay's mother was there and kept me sane (?) by giving me updates frequently. Jay's sister, Alice Chaney, is a nurse and was with Bree the whole time.

I found out Daven had arrived by getting a text with a first photo. I had to pull off at the next exit to show George (he was following me in his car since he will go home waaaaay before me) and to call MTee for details and to check on our girl. I was a crying mess....for joy and relief and frustration for not being there. We arrived 4 hours after his birth. He was born at 5:23 AM and
weighed 8.1 and is 19 inches of PERFECTION.

We are praising God from whom all blessings flow!

Thanks for all your sweet comments, messages and calls.

Kat

A GREAT CAUSE AND LOTS AND LOTS OF FUN

I had a wonderful weekend.  I hope YOU did too.

The weather was absolutely perfect (and is supposed to be all week).  Cool fall mornings, sunny afternoons, and cool at night!  Perfect for all the things we love to do.........golf, tennis, bike riding, walking the beach, etc.

I LOVE October.

The first annual Serve2Cure Breast Cancer at our neighborhood tennis center was held on Saturday morning.  It could not have gone more smoothly.  Thank goodness.

 We had cake!

PINK was  e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e !!!!!
I was in charge of the breakfast.  Here I am (in the shadows) with my two committee members, Jeanette and Carol.
Lots of yummy food......thanks to so many of my friends who contributed.

Here's just two of the many silent auction items.

Don't you just love a man in PINK.  Here is my sweet hubby practicing his serve before the Fastest Serve contest.
Lunch was provided by Graffiti in Baytowne Village.  Chaotic, but so yummy!
Our local Elvis impersonator, Ron Adams, performed.
There was TV coverage.

I didn't sign up to do the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk this year (it's scheduled for the end of October) since I wasn't sure if our daughter, Bree's baby would come early or be late, so I'm so glad I was able to be a part of the Serve2Cure tournament.

BTW........Bree went back to the doctor today.  All is good.  Unless Daven decides to come earlier,  Bree's c-section is scheduled for next Tuesday, October 11th.

Eight more days.  Can.not.wait!

ME...NAUGHTY ???

It's been a week since my birthday, but I'm still looking over my birthday cards and loving them ALL.  I just had to share with you this handwritten note that  George included in my store bought card.

After almost 34 years of marriage, it's nice to know he still finds me naughty.
And youthful.
And appetizing.
LOL

Loved it.

Love YOU George!

HELLO

Just wanted to say HELLO.  Life is pretty busy for me these days.  Lots going on.  No time to blog.  No time to visit.  Very little time to be on the computer.

Life is sweet though.

Thank you God for busy, but sweet times.

Back soon ;-)

DEAR DAVEN

Dear Daven

Unless God decides you are ready earlier, you will arrive via c-section on October 11th.

We are all so excited!

Guess what? Mommy and I visited your girlfriend Izzy this afternoon. I took her a cute little doll and it was almost bigger than her.

Holding Izzy made me even more excited to see you.

I love you little man.

Soon, very very soon!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME

Oh.My.Word!  I had a wonderful birthday!

My day started when my niece, Brittany, and her boyfriend, Brandon,  took us out for breakfast to Another Broken Egg on the bay.  Yummy!  They stayed with us this weekend since they were in town to attend a beach wedding tonight.  Our time was limited, but it was still fun getting to see them.

I can't believe I didn't take my camera ;-(

All through the day I received so many calls, emails, facebook messages, birthday cards, phone calls, etc.

What a show of LOVE Thanks everyone!

These three grandchildren surprised me with a photo birthday card AND a message with them all singing HAPPY BIRTHDAY!  Very unique!  Loved it!
And these three grandchildren called and sang to me too!  So special!
Tonight we went out to dinner at Borago with our friends Linda & Dick and Kay & Larry.    I love Borago!

I had my favorite dish - Fusilli with toasted pine nuts, artichokes, calamata olives, fresh mozzarella and basil pesto sauce (and I add grilled shrimp)  Delish!

We ended the night with another of my favorites....a seven layer caramel cake!  Decadent, but oh sooooo good!

I used to think birthdays were no big deal.  As a cancer survivor though, I realize that every single day is a gift!

Thank you Lord for another wonderful year.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm leaving after church tomorrow to go spend a few more days with Bree and Jay.  I'm so excited to get to go to the doctor with Bree on Monday.  She is also having another ultrasound to see if Daven is still breech.  If so, we think they will schedule a c-section in another week or so.
