ORGANIZING

The good thing about moving is you have to re-organize your closets. The bad thing about moving is you HAVE to re-organize your closets. Oh my! It's been weeks now and I've put it off long enough...sad to say.

I had my golf lesson this morning which was fun. I'm not sure yet if golf will be for me, but I'm giving it a good "go".

I hit tennis with George yesterday and did okay so George feels I'm ready to return to tennis with the girls. I'll start back on Monday. My friend Carol took over for me and kept the girls organized until I could get back at it. She did a wonderful job, but she's happy I'll be taking over again.

It was a yucky overcast day so I made myself stay home and begin on the closets. YUK! DOUBLE YUK! I hate it! I didn't finish since I was also doing laundry and the phone kept ringing and I kept thinking of calls I needed to make. (I can find lots of excuses to leave the closet for awhile.) I'll try to get back at it soon. (wink, wink)

Tommorrow morning at 7:30 I'm having a cervical MRI done to see why my fingers on both hands keep going numb. I'm nervous about getting in the tunnel for the MRI. Hope I can sleep tonight and not worry about it too much. (fingers are crossed!)

Our new friends Becky and Frank with me and George. Frank built our new house!

George enjoys his hug from Barbara and Jeanette
The girls: Linda, Me, Barbara, Jeanette, Becky and Jennifer

George and I threw a little cocktail party tonight at the new house. Since Bob and Jennifer and Jack and Linda were in town, we thought we'd get everyone together. That's our excuse for a party and we're sticking to it.

WHO IS LIKE THE LORD?

Today we sang:

Stand Up and Give Him the Praise

Who is like the Lord? There is no one
Who is like the Lord? He is strong and mighty
Who is like the Lord? He is worthy
Stand up and give him the praise.

There is no one like the Lord. I want to always stand up and give him the praise.

CHOCOLATES!

I received a special package today from my blog friend, Cheryl, who lives in Pennsylvania. What a thoughtful thing to do!! Cheryl and I have never met, but became friends through reading each others blogs. We have alot in common. I value her friendship. She's as sweet as these chocolates she sent me. Yummy!

GOOD FRIENDS

Jack and Linda arrived in town yesterday. We were all too tired from our travels to get together last night, but tonight they came by to see the new house and then we went out to dinner at the Marlin Grill. It's wonderful to have them in town this week.

BIRTHDAY PARTY FOR TWO

Landon loves Legos! He turns 7 soon
Kaley Grace with her Barbie cake. She turned 5 last week.

Today Landon and Kaley Grace had a joint birthday party. They were so excited and cute opening their gifts. Angela's parents make the birthday cakes every year and they do an awesome job.

After the party, we drove back home to Florida. It was wonderful getting to see everyone at Thanksgiving and at the party.

WE'RE SO PROUD

Lots of Christmas shoppers!
George demonstrates playing the game
Lots of teams to choose from
Ringing up sales

Before leaving town this morning, we stopped by the mall in Columbus, GA to visit the Zelosport kiosk in the mall. It's the first kiosk for the company and sales for the finger football game are good so far. Our son, Eric, has worked very hard along with many others to get this game off the ground and up and running. Eric also designed the company website. Things are really looking good. We couldn't be prouder of him!

SNUGGLING IN ATLANTA

Landon made a sign for us. I love the way he used hearts for his o's!

We arrived in Atlanta late this afternoon. Kaley Grace, Landon and Sydney Anne always make us feel good. They are so excited to see us. We got to spend some time together before we all went out for pizza and then came back and all snuggled up in our jammies and watched Cars. Really cute!

THANKSGIVING 2006

Kristin and I squinting in the sun.
Three of our grandsons, Dalton, Carson and Zac, and my sister Karen's grandson, Cameron
Karrigan

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving, although it was very different from the past ones. Two of our children and four of our grandchildren couldn't be there, which made it feel strange and sad at times. My sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Rusty, were our hosts and they always do such a good job. I took lots of photos but naturally my favorites are of my grandchildren :-)

When we got back to Mom's house, I helped her put up her Christmas tree...one of our traditions we do together.

Off to bed early. I'm exhausted. Excited though about heading to Atlanta tomorrow to see Eric and his family. We sure missed them today.

JUST TUESDAY

Garrett, George, Kyle and Dick
Me, Barbara, Jeanette and Melissa
George, Garrett and Dick - 3 Muskateers
Me, Barbara, Jeanette and Melissa

I love our life. Now that George is retired, every day seems like a weekend. We literally forget what day it is (except for Sundays). Every day seems like a Friday or Saturday night. We do things that we used to be only able to do on weekends. Like go out to dinner or have drinks with friends or go to the movies or stay up real late, etc. Now, we just decide what we want to do and then we do it. Believe me, we enjoyed the years when our kids were little and we worked and we knew we had to get up early the next morning, but it sure is nice now. Tonight although it's just a Tuesday, we had the "gang" over for drinks and lots and lots of food. Garrett and Jeanette's son Kyle are in town with his wife, Melissa, so they were here too. So much fun! It was great to all be together before everyone gets busy for Thanksgiving. We love our friends and our life. We feel very blessed and this Thanksgiving, we include our friends in our long list of things to be thankful for.

WALKING AGAIN

I've started my walking again! Finally! Saturday was my first day back, so I didn't do the full walk and I did just fine. Today I did the whole thing. It felt wonderful! I'm still not back to tennis, but I'll gradually get back into it too I hope.

I'm still working on getting settled in the new house. Little by little, it's coming together.

A GORGEOUS DAY

It was wonderful being back in church this week. We missed last Sunday since Bree and Jay were in town.

Our scripture reading today is one of my favorites:

Psalm 118:24 This is the day which the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Tonight Dick and Barbara and Garrett and Jeanette came over for drinks and then we all went out to dinner at the new Graffiti in the village. Yummy!

MASKED BALL

Tonight George and I attended the American Cancer Society Masked Ball at the Hilton. It was alot of fun and a wonderful benefit to the Cancer Society. We were invited over to Ampy and Fred's house for a drink and to take photos before the ball. I loved George's red mask.

A KEEPER?

We had a wonderful time this weekend with Bree and her new boyfriend, Jay. They've been dating almost three months - which is a long time for her! HA! They arrived late Thursday night and left this morning right after I made a big breakfast. Bree looked great...and happy. They make a cute couple and seemed "made for each other". George and I think he's a "keeper". We'll see.

It brings back memories of when George and Jan met and later when Eric and Angela met. I remember when George told us he was getting serious about Jan. He paid me a big compliment (as his stepmom especially). He told me he thought she was the one and he thought she was alot like me. She and I do have alot in common. We love alot of the same things and enjoy shopping, playing tennis, etc. together. I can remember too when Eric brought Angela home for the first time from college for a long weekend. We had a great time. She immediately felt a part of our family. Eric called when he got back to college and asked what we thought. We told him "she's a keeper". We were right. Although Kim's first marriage failed, she definitely found a "keeper" in her second marriage. We love Mike. It makes George and I happy to know our kids are happy. We are blessed in our own marriage and we're happy they are too.

STILL MOVING

George and I are still consumed with moving. Lord, I never knew how much "stuff" we have! Progress every day, but wow we are so tired and sore! No time for phone calls, e-mails, or even blogging so you know I'm busy from morning to bedtime!!!!

EXHAUSTED

I'm truly exhausted! Happy, but so exhausted...mentally and physically. So much still needs to be done. So much is running through my head. I'm making lists and then forgetting to check them half the time. This too shall pass. (I hope!) The new house is looking better and better as we unload and get our things in place. We're still making trips back and forth from the condo to the new house. We hope to be through with all the running by the time Bree and her new boyfriend, Jay, arrive on Thursday. We can't wait to see her and to meet him.

WILD AND CRAZY

The new house and George with his new toy...the golf cart was delivered yesterday.

It's been a wild and crazy week. We've literally spent all day every day moving. Yuk! We're still making trips with both cars from the old address to the new one. And...we're not finished yet. We're getting closer though. We've been meeting with everyone...the pool person, the security person, the landscape person, the cable person, etc., etc., etc. I've also been to physical therapy and yesterday I went back for my appt. with Dr. Fox. He released me! Yeah! My foot/ankle is much better...just in time for all this work and the holidays. It still gets sore and I'm still icing it. He gave me a tigh fitting brace with straps over under and all around the foot to wear when I play tennis or golf. I've taken a few golf lessons but I haven't tried tennis yet. No time right now with the move, etc. We're both exhausted mentally and physically, but we sure do love our new home.

MEMORIES

March 28, 1982 - Rev. Finch held Bree as he walked up and down the aisles and talked for awhile after the ceremony. Bree was so good and charmed everyone.
Wow - George and I both had dark hair!
Big Brother, Eric, and Bree at home after the ceremony.

Let the little children come unto Me, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these.

Luke 18:16

This morning in church we had a christening ceremony for three babies. The babies were so adorable and you could feel the excitement in the air. The entire front of the church was filled with family members and the babies' godparents. It really brought back wonderful memories for us of when our children were christened. I've given the married children all their pictures, baby books, etc. so they can enjoy them with their children, but I still have Bree's. I pulled them out tonight. I had to take a picture of the old photos, so they're a little blurry. George and I got a kick out of seeing them though.

STILL PACKING

It was a beautiful Fall day...real cool in the morning, but sunny and very nice by lunch...so nice. George met the cable guy at the new house this morning. He took over a full load in his SUV so he could unload it while the guy worked. I came a little later in my car with a load. It's nice to start seeing our things in the new house.

Afterwards, we rode our bike for awhile all around the resort. It felt wonderful. A perfect day really. Lots of people out riding their bikes or walking or playing tennis or golf. I think everyone wanted to be outside today. Later I did some shopping trying to find some items we need.

Tonight, the gang was back at Barbara and Dick's for our Saturday night "pizza making" . YUMMY! The guys watched South Carolina vs Tennessee and all the girls played Mexican Train Dominios. Toot toot!

GETTING IT DONE

It's been a good day. We accomplished alot. George and I work well together getting things done. He's doing his part - things I don't want to do...like making sure all the utilities are handled, getting things together for the closing, meeting the cable guy, etc., etc. He's also running errands for me that I don't have time for...like picking up my prescription, groceries, etc. What a sweetie! I'm doing things he doesn't like and couldn't do anyway...like deciding what goes and what stays, packing up little items, doing laundry in between, etc., etc. We're a good team.

Frank, our builder, is such a nice guy. He's doing last minute check-up things so we probably won't find much when we do the "walk thru" with him. He's told us it's okay to start bringing things over even though we don't actually close until Tuesday. So we'll be making lots of trips by car taking over things we won't want to take by truck next week.

I managed to get my workout in this morning and I'm watching what I eat. I'm down 3-1/2 pounds so far!

Physical Therapy went well today. John is real pleased with my range of motion. My foot is pretty tired tonight and so am I. Off to bed! zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
