THIS WEEK HAS FLOWN BY

Gosh, where does the time go?
I guess since I get up every day and head to the tennis court by 8:30 and then run errands on the way home and then it's early afternoon by the time I get back home, it's not surprising that the days are flying by :-)
I haven't been to the beach one day this week.  Pooh!
And it's been gorgeous!  All day, every day.  Rain has been predicted, but rarely comes and, when it does, it's only a quick shower.

Our friends, Ed and Jane, are in town from Atlanta so we had dinner with them tonight at Bonefish.  Ed and George worked together and it's always fun to see them.

Our friends, Bob and Jennifer and Bob's Dad Mr. Bob, arrive tomorrow so we're looking forward to seeing them.

Life is mighty good right now.
I hope you can say the same :-)

HOME AFTER A SILLY WEEKEND

I just got home tonight from a quick weekend trip to visit our daughter, son-in-love and grandson.  I'm still smiling.  Daven is 2 (turning 3 in October) and is so much fun.  It's amazing how smart he is!  It's fun to be silly for a few days and he always makes me want to be silly.

He loves to put on my reading glasses :-)

 Playing with stickers kept us giggling.

Two sweet stories....

One night after I read him 4 books, gave him his bath, tickled and cuddled and we said prayers (he can say it all by himself), I tucked him in bed and as I turned to walk away he said "you're my best friend Goose".  Be still my heart!
~~~~~~
If you ask Daven what the cross means he usually says JESUS.  (Bree has a collection of crosses displayed on a wall in a hallway.)  I wear a lot of cross jewelry...earrings, bracelets and necklaces.  On Sunday, I had on a pair of plain gold cross earrings.  He pointed to one and said "this one means JESUS" and then he pointed to the other one and said "this one means GOD".
THANK YOU God for grandchildren!
A FEW MORE FAVORITE THINGS
 Following along with my last post, here's a few more of my favorite things:
1.  Orchids
I used to give orchids as gifts, but was actually afraid to try to keep them myself.  Silly me.  They really are easy plants AND they make me happy :-)
 2.  Blue Bell Vanilla Ice Cream Cups
The perfect snack size.  I usually eat it by itself, but sometimes I add strawberries or caramel sauce.
So creamy.  So yummy!
Need I say more?!
3.  Calyx Perfume by Clinique
I've worn this for years.  Love it.
I get compliments on it all the time.
It has a feminine citrusy scent.
 4. Bra Converting Clips
(I call 'em thingees)
I think I bought mine at Steinmart a long time ago, but I've seen different styles in other stores, maybe even Wally World.  The pack I bought had three colors, 2 of each...cream, clear and black.  I keep one of each color in my luggage and the others at home.
They are easy to put on by yourself and they really keep your bra straps tucked in, especially when you wear sundresses or exercise/tennis
tops that cut in.
 5.  Klaveli Million Ankle Pant
I bought these in a local boutique in black and white.  They are super comfy and wash well on the delicate cycle, although it says to dry clean.  I put them in the dryer for about 30 seconds just to get them warm, shake good and hang to dry.  Love 'em.
Oh, and when it gets cool, I like to wear them tucked in boots with a long sweater.
Now it's YOUR turn.
Share your favorites pretty please :-)
A FEW OF MY (latest) FAVORITE THINGS
 Sing with me:
Following in the footsteps of my friend Judy @ Gracious Southern Living, I thought I'd share some of my latest FAVORITE THINGS.  And two of them were suggested by Judy.  Thanks girlfriend.
1. Milky Way Simply Caramels   Anybody who knows me, even a little bit, knows I love chocolate.  It's usually always dark chocolate, but lately I'm in L-O-V-E with these 100 calorie snack size bars.
 2.  Jam Classic Bluetooth Wireless Speaker.
This small cutie pie has the best sound and I love that it comes in a sturdy plastic jar to store it in to keep it dust free when not in use.  It fits perfectly in my beach bag or in my purse if I want to take it with me anywhere.  AND when your phone rings, the music stops so you can hear the ring and you can answer by just pushing a button.
 3.  Maybelline FALSIES mascara
This is one that Judy suggested and I love it.  I made the mistake of buying the waterproof at first...and loved it...but I worry about damaging my eyelashes trying to remove any waterproof mascara.  I liked the product so much that I bought the regular one.  L-O-V-E it!
 4.  Benefits They're Real! Mascara
I was told this is the #1 bestseller at Ulta.  I believe it  and I know why.  This stuff is GOOD. Real good.
The negative is that's it's $23.
One coat of either mascara is good for daytime.  A friend had a good idea for special occasions, which I haven't tried yet.  She said to put one coat of Benefits They're Real on first and (once it has dried completely) to add a top coat of the Maybelline's Falsies.
va-va-voom
 5. Suave Moroccan Infusion Dry Body Oil
Love love love this!
It's in a rather small spray bottle, but a little goes a long way.  It feels great on the skin.  I love the smell too.  Fresh!  It's a bit strong when you first put it on, but not for long.  This is a keeper!
 6.  Blue Diamond Oven Roasted Dark Chocolate Almonds
Have you tried these?
Oh.my.word!  Trust me...these are wonderful!
7.  Palmetto Cheese - "The Pimento Cheese with Soul"
My favorite is the Jalapeno, but the original is very good too.  I haven't tried the one with bacon.  Yet :-)
These are good on a sandwich, but also good to use as a dip.
Soooo yummy!
Well, that's enough for now.
Hope you will try some of these.
Now share some of your favorite things with me please.
I love trying new things :-)
SEWIOUSLY
Where are all my blog friends?
Since I've been back, I'm not seeing many visitors and/or
comments.
I blog for me, so it's not that I "need" comments.  My blog is my personal journal and that's why I do it.  I love to look back over the months/years.  It's a good reminder to myself of how blessed I am.  Lots of good memories are held here.
But I miss the interaction with my blog friends.  Maybe everyone has gotten too busy with Facebook, Instagram, etc.
It SEWIOUSLY makes me sad.  But...I'll keep on blogging.
And, for those few who do stop by and comment -
WELL....
Well...I guess everyone isn't meant to be friends.
Sad :-(
George met someone recently on the beach via another friend of ours.  They had a lot in common and knew many people from business.  We decided to have he and his wife over for drinks tonight and then we went to a restaurant close by for dinner.  I always enjoy meeting new people.
The cocktail hour went just fine.
But....
Once we got to the restaurant, all H E double L went wrong.  The guys started talking politics and were totally opposite.  Totally.
Not a fun evening.
Have you ever experienced something like this?  Very uncomfortable!  Grrrr
Guess we won't see them again.
"SELFIES"
Do you take "selfies"?
I have one particular friend who does all.the.time :-)
I just saw another one she posted on Facebook and thought "I never do that".
And then I thought "oh, yes you do".
And I do.
Here's just a few:
And why do I do this, you ask?  LOL
Well, when I'm trying on clothes for a trip...usually weeks before I travel...I take a quick pic so when it's time to pack, all I have to do is look at the pics and decide what to take.  And it helps me not forget what shoes or jewelry I decided to put with it. (Notice in some photos I have on two different shoes trying to decide which one.  LOL)  Trying to decide what to pack was always a struggle until I started doing this.
Silly, but it works for me.
And usually nobody sees the pics but me.
Until now :-)
Do YOU do "selfies"?
