CONTENTMENT

Darn, another week has gone by and I haven't posted on my blog!

Life is good though.  Really good.  The word contentment fits my feelings perfectly!

con·tent·ment

noun \kən-ˈtent-mənt\
1 : the quality or state of being contented

Have you ever felt that feeling of just loving life exactly as it is?  I hope so.  I guess it doesn't happen often, but that's how I feel.  And it's nice.  Very very nice.

Here's a "few" photos to show what's been going on this week and why I'm feeling so content:
 The beach is just steps away.....

 Just chillin'

Lots of easy summer meals on the balacony...nothing like a BLT with sweet potato chips...on a paper plate :-)
I love spending time on the balcony reading...wine and chocolate are my companions while I watch the sunset ;-)
The beach has been so great.  Un-crowded and oh so beautiful!
 If I'm not on the beach, I'm in the pool doing my water aerobics.
 Sunsets in September and October are the best!
 Where I do my bible study....the perfect place, I think :-)

So clear!
Even the birds love this time of year!  ;-)
A view from our balacony
I had a "big" birthday.  My friend Jeanette took me to lunch after tennis and the waiter brought me a BIG margarita.  No, we did not finish it.

Life is good!  Very good.  Thank you God!

A GLORIOUS WEEK

It's Sunday night and I'm counting my blessings!

Our son Eric and his family and our daughter Bree and her family were here last week.  We missed the others, but we sure had a good time.

Our son-in-love Jay had to leave the day before this photo was taken :-(

 This was Daven's first beach trip and he loved it!
The girls made me a birthday cake out of sand and shells while I was inside exercising.  So cool!

 Daven got plenty of attention from his cousins!
 The girls blew bubbles and Daven was fascinated :-)

Look at those wrinkled "little" Flintstones feet!  LOL

 The water and wind was pretty rough on this one day, but it didn't keep us from having fun.

My sweet friend Carolyn and her hubby Robert gave a "Sip and See" so all our friends could meet Daven.  He was so good.

Here's a few photos I took this weekend on "our" beach.  This is why September and October are my favorite months!

Life is good!
I hope it is for YOU too.

THIS AND THAT

Obviously, I'm not good at taking my own photo.  LOL  Guess I should have used my camera and tripod instead of my phone since my camera has a self timer.  Why am I looking at the phone and not straight ahead?!  Duh!  Anyway, I'm trying to decide if my hair is getting too long.  I'm sure you've been where I am...cut it or let it grow and see what happens ;-)  What's your opinion?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I started a new bible study this morning.  I love Beth Moore bible studies, but haven't done one in over a year.  I think this is going to be a good one.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We're getting excited.  To say the least!  Our son Eric and his family AND our daughter Bree and her family are all coming this weekend to spend next week with us.  Just wish ALL the kids and grandchildren could be here together, but I'm thrilled and can.not.wait!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I've added water aerobics to my fitness routine lately and I'm loving it.  Extra tired by bedtime though :-)
WHAT I'VE BEEN DOING
I can't believe I haven't posted in awhile.  Life really does fly by, especially when you're busy and boy have I been busy.
I'll fill you in on what I've been doing, but first....
MY BRAC results came back NEGATIVE!!!
Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I took a little road trip to see Daven.  And his parents too, of course!  LOL

He's getting to be such a big boy.  And just as sweet and happy as ever.  Crawling everywhere...and fast...and starting to pull up.
 My son-in-law Jay sure can cook!  Oh.my.word!  Chicken Etouffee!
 Guess who turned 11 months?
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I had to come home a day or two early since Hurricane Isaac threatened the Gulf Coast.  It's always scary anytime a hurricane forms.
This is what it looked like when I got home and stepped out on the balcony.  Scary!
Thank goodness, we were spared and things improved quickly.  Just in time before my sister's visit.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My baby sis, Kim, spent a long weekend with us.  We had a ball, but sadly took very few photos and most of the ones we took didn't turn out that great.  Grrrr! (I think my camera was on the wrong setting!)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This has been a busy fun-filled week!  Our friends Jack & Linda and Bob & Jennifer were in town and we enjoyed getting to spend time together.
Lots of food and wine!  Good conversations and laughter too.
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here's a few shots I took today.  What a gorgeous day, from start to finish!
